Irvin,
Are you 100% sure the 50/50 method if safe for the frame? I usually string low tension with multi mains and soft copoly crosses. I have a 6 point mount dropweight, so I would imagine the risk of frame distortion is minimal, but I just want to be sure. I do have a brake with my machine, but it's a bit of a pain to lock/unlock and it's not a real "brake" that holds it at any spot...it locks itself in certain increments (its a MP Hercules). My biggest issue with my EXO3 White is the damn blocked holes that are so hard to push through. I think I am going to have to use that "spare string" method, where you "pre ready" the blocked hole with a small piece of string, so you can pull on it to expose the hole when you are ready. I have been using an awl to "pre clear" the passage and then quickly stick the string through, but I am always afraid of damaging the string with the point of the awl.

I thought this was a universal stringing tool before I opened the thread...lol.
Jack. one thing that helps is to use needle nose pliers to push the string though. U want to grip really close to the frame and just be pushing a little bit at a time. On the other side push the the blocking string down just a little and you should be good. Other thing is is to have your clamps set away from that blocked grommet so the tension is not as bad on that side of the frame. So if you string 1 ahead, don't do it for the blocked grommets..just go one at a time for that that section so the clamps are on the opposite side.

What type of stringer do you have. I seldom have a problem with blocked grommet holes. If I see there is going to be a problem I can move the side supports to get around any blocked holes. Irvin

Not sure what you mean by "moving the side supports"? i dont mean the stringer supports are blocking anything, I mean the mains cross over cross holes when you skip mains, and then when you go to do the crosses, the hole is blocked by the mains running accross it (in the outside of the grommet).

I use the awl too to push the string down. When I combine it with the needle nose push on the other end I can be real gentle and never have a problem.

They have an orange and light gray O3 boomerang the dark gray and red are for the EXO3 rackets. If you have two of the red ones hang on to them. Some day when they run out again they may be worth something. LOL
