Count me in
I'm switching to the 4D 100 or 200 tour. I'm demoing both now and play a tournament tomorrow so I'll post my thoughts then, I hit today with them for 30 mins each and liked them both.

I played with both and since i felt snowboarding my arm hurts pretty easy, the 200 made it hurt in 1 minute, while the 100(not 4d) made me fall in love in 5 hits. But i don't really have a good amount of time playing with the 200.

200 tour: I was very impressed with this one and it really surprised me. Even though the swingweight is up there (353) it was really easy to move around. I wasn't hitting late and it was easier to take the ball off the rise (a la Davydenko style) because of the stability. I didn't feel like the racquet was pushed around at all and I played against a very heavy hitter when I used this. I got plenty of pop and spin with it from the baseline and was easy to change from defense to offense. Volleys were solid because of the high swing weight and it had a lot of touch and feel for drop volleys. I got plenty of pop and spin on my serves. This racquet is a must demo for Dunlop lovers. 100: I didn't like it at first so I added 4 inches of 1/4 lead tape (about 4 grams in total) at the 3 and 9 positions. I like it a lot after that. Groundstrokes had a ton of topspin and pace on them, but not as much pace as the 200 tour. I thought it was easy to move and could get more spin, but had to work for the pace where with the 200 tour the racquet did the work. Volleys were good but not as stable as the 200. Touch was about the same but if I was to play a lot of doubles I would have to get stronger so I could control it at net better. Serves were amazing, just like what everyone says about it. It is one of the top serving sticks out there today. I was really pleased with both and will play with them one last time tomorrow before I make my decision. I'll edit this post tomorrow if I find anything different.

I play with 2 AG500s...a really fun racquet to play with, though the looks leave a little to be desired.

Still using my heavily modded M-Fil300's. I have three all about 13oz and 8points HL. Love the easy access to power and spin with a thin Poly at low tension. A friend (Wilson 6.1 lite user) hit with one of mine today and was hitting with much more depth and pace. Needless to say I will be modding up his Wilson soon!
Intrigued by the 4D models, especially the 200 and 300 Tour models. What I like about Dunlop is they are well made, fairly cheap amd lend themselves to modification. Hit with lots of other frames and not found anything yet to match my Dunlops.

Your comments on the 200 tour and the 100 mirror my experience pretty closely. For instance, yesterday, with my 200 tour, I volleyed away several very hard hit line drives with ease and with authority. My opponent was taken aback (and, later, quite complimentary). On groundies, dealing with pace or spin or both was no problem -- this racquet exhibits tremendous stability. Very confidence-inspiring. Agree with your observations of the 100. That's why I'd love to see Dunlop introduce a tour version of that stick -- with more weight, evenly distributed. |

I'm sticking with the 200 tours. They're just more stable and that's what I need since I take the ball off the rise and I volley a lot. The weight is nothing to me and I can easily swing it for 3 sets no problem. If the 100 had the 200's specs but it kept the same string pattern and spacing I would easily switch to it. Dunlop better make one. I'll definitely post pics when I get them in a week or two, depends on how long Dunlop takes to get them to me.

So far, I've used VS 17/Conquest 17 @ 56 (like) and Black Magic 17/Professional 18 @ 49 (like).
Fluoro 1.23/TNT Pro Plus 17L @ 51 (OK but not great). Last edited by Keifers : 06-13-2010 at 09:11 PM. |

I used mine without dampeners this weekend after getting two of them restrung.
I much prefer them with a dampener to be honest. I've gotten addicted to rubber band dampeners lately. But then again the 4Hundred/Smoke even with 20g added isn't the most massive thing around. However once the new strings broke in the sound got back to almost normal anyway. I don't know why people bash the AG400 so much. Put some lead at 3/9 and a leather grip and it is a very good hit IMHO. Bone stock it has one of the biggest and sweetest sweetspots in its class according to the TWU tests. It has a very healthy twistweight even though the head is narrow and long. With the Smoke version being on sale, I'm often times tempted to pick up a third one. You know, I think I will submit a review on TW. Chocobo, there is a new line coming out, some indications are it will be here before 2011. I'm hoping they bring back the 400 since they skipped it with the 4D lineup. 400G hotmelt, M-Fil 400, AG400, AGSmoke,.... no 4D Last edited by Mig1NC : 06-14-2010 at 02:37 AM. |

Have any of you guys tried changing the Pallets on your Dunlops? I'm kind of missing the Head shaped pallets and would like to know if it is possible to switch it up to a Head Pallet? thanks

5 x M Fil 200 16x19 - lead at 3 and 9 for a static weight of 336 grams. Big Ace 17 guage at 53 or 54 (whichever of the 2 I told Drak I liked better)

I got dunlops clothes, bag, sticks and strings, so I guess I should join. The strings are pretty bleh, but the racquets are the best.
