Default Where to buy the piece of rubber at top of grip?

Does the piece of rubber that goes around the top of the grip (covering the tape) have a name? Regardless, is there anywhere to buy these? I noticed a lot of racquets are no longer coming with them. Thank you.

Just buy a new grip (replacement, not overgrip) - it comes in the package.

Woops, I thought you were talking about grip tape.

Try ordering some from Unique Sports.

Are you talking about the elastic bands that say head, prince, wilson etc?

they usually come with the racquet and mentioned in some replacement grip packages. but unique sells some generic ones.

Not all grips have grip bands any more. I know the Wilson grips I buy from TW have grip bands but Wal-Mart sells the same grip and there are no grip bands. I used to have lots but I mentioned that on this forum once and ended up giving most of them away. I want the keep the few I have let just in case you are wondering.

I have a tennis buddy that had a bad case of tennis elbow and he wanted a girp band for his racket once. I had about 6 in my bag and gave them all to him. He put one on his girp and another on his overwrap as I do. He thought it made his elbow fell better so he put the other 4 above the grip on his racket and loved it. We all started making fun of him thinking he could not tell the difference. When his tennis elbow went away we were amazed.

We are bringing in some from Tourna (Unique). They should be here next week.

I hope Tiffani won't mind my mentioning this alternative..

Tennis shops often have some on hand, from customers who didn't want the grip bands on their racquets. If you ask nicely, ...

Is there any benefit to using these? I've noticed that some of my racquets came with them but some didn't. I've always thought that these were just for aesthetics.

No proven benefit (Irvin's post is the only one that I've read that related the grip band to virbration - hay if it works, great!).

I use it instead of tape with Gamma Supreme overgrip; for me, it's purely aesthetics.

Depending on how one hold the racket (especially for two handers), some people reported it is easily flipped/rolled out of position.
