Default Volkl Supergrip II

My overgrip of choice right now is white Yonex Supergrap and I wouldn't consider changing but I've read that the product has recently changed much like the Wilson Pro changed a while back. I have tried Gamma Supreme which is very tacky and I don't sweat a lot but I sweat enough that I don't feel confident in my grip with Supreme because it is so slick. I don't like Tournagrip at all. The Supergrap absorbs enough for me right now because I still have the old version (about 13 or so left I think). Anyways I was looking into the Tourna Tac but I thought the Volkl Supergrip II sounded good but there really aren't too many posts about it from the searches I have done. So I was wondering if some of you use Supergrip II and how it compares to Supergrap, especially for sweat absorbtion. And opinions of Tournatac are welcome as well.

Get the volkl super grip II, I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Pros:

1. Long lasting tackiness-WAY better than yonex.
2. Very good durability, never rips or tears
3. Sweat absorption is as good as, if not better than, yonex.

Cons:

1. The overgrip is a bit thick, around .7mm.
2. The overgrip is wider than yonex or wilson, but shorter. (Not necessarily a bad thing as it will still make it to the top of the grip, just the spacing between each overlap is different.)

Thanks for your response. Have you used the black and the white? I use white right now but I would prefer black because the white get so nasty looking even when they are still fairly new. I have read that colored grips usually aren't as good for absorbtion however.

I have never used the black (had a VERY bad experience with Yonex supergrap black in terms of tackiness being ephemeral [absorption was still very good though] so I decided to never use the color again). You can try both of them in the 3 packs and see the difference. Just don't get the black in a 30 pack unless you are certain its good.

Thanks thats good advice because I bought a 30 pack of Gamma Supreme and now I basically can't use it so I won't make that mistake again. I bought a 3 pack of the Volkl supergrip II black but I just put new Supergraps on my sticks so I have to wait until I wear out a Supergrap and then I will test out the Black supergrip. I might buy a white pack....there's an online store that I can buy them for 4 bucks and get free shipping. I'm more concerned with aborbtion than tackiness though because I'm 25 but all of the sudden I sweat a ton more than I ever have (and I hate Tournagrip, need some durability).

If you find that super grip II becomes too slippery for you, try this overgrip:
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Paci...IC-PXTROR.html

It is like tournagrip, except longer and way better durability (much more tear resistant). You can also get it in 30 packs on Mid West sports website.

Cool, I've heard of Pacific X-tac but I haven't heard anything about that one. Sounds like people using Tourna should use that one if it lasts so much longer, which I don't doubt that it does. I think Volkl will be good enough though because you said it absorbs better than Supergrap and Supergrap is good for me.

the volkl supergrip is actually pretty nice. I've only tried the yellow from my dubs partner. Handled the heat and sweat well. Are there differences in the feel from color to color?

There pretty much always is differences between colors of the same grip. I will be trying out the black supergrip II once I have to replace supergrap on one of my sticks
