LOLville, a terrible tragedy has just occurred, Farterer got to #17 .

As a consequence Nadal now definitely needs more than 16 but he can get there as he's playing the best tennis of his career so I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't think Nadal will get to 16. This Wimbledon was a great chance for him to add to his tally, a slam on his second best surface in his prime. He's got only hard court slams left until he turns 27. He's no spring chicken. I imagine he'll win the French two or three more times, and he could definitely get another Wimbledon and even another hard court major - all of which added together at the most optimistic is 16, but I think that's not terribly likely.

Well he's 26 and just needs 6. It's possible. Not likely, but possible.

You mean, *if* Federer is done, right?

(Which I don't think he is, to say the truth...)

I agree, *******s are talking about winning slams as a walk in the park. I dont think it will be the case but Nadal COULD be done winning Slams.

Realistically, I think he will win his last Slam in 2013.

Nadal could still get to 14 on Roland Garros titles alone, but it's hard to see him winning outside clay events. His grand slam resume may turn out to be pretty homogeneous after all, despite being one of the greatest players ever regardless.

Umm.. I think Nadal cannot rest on clay alone, he needs to start winning AO / W / USO again if he has to reach 16.

I think AO is his best slam after RG. He is too vulnerable in the first week of W.
