Fed needs a 250" racquet with a 12x14 string pattern and full Luxilon Beton 1.48 gauge strings to win another slam.

I don't think a new racket would be the 'silver bullet', I mean he was number one and at the top of his game, he could't go up, I think he just need to rest a bit.

Fed should switch to a tweener.
Head size isn't his problem; inside his head, his age and a certain Mallorcan are his problems. Fed could play with a broom handle and still win more times than not. |

Maybe the Asian BLX with some mods would be a better fit for him. At his age, the weight of the US BLX is just too much.

Sampras confessed that racquet change should help him.

Some professionals never make it to a Major 1/4 final in their entire careers.
Fed loses a couple of times in the quarters, and behold, the end of the world is upon us. He's not moving quite as well as before, and his motivation/intensity seems to be lacking somewhat. Also, he doesn't convert opportunities (break points) as well as he was doing before. 2 or 3 important points that one doesn't win in a match can be costly (i.e. make the difference between winning and losing). |

Well over the years as world number one and winning all these slams we all know Fed has been using the same racket, if fact hes played some of the best tennis every witnessed with this 90 square inch racket. So can someone please tell me one thing? Has everyone else suddenly gotten so much better so Feds best isnt good enough anymore, and therefore he desperately needs to change frames? Ooooor could it be that there are other aspects of his game where hes declined......??

Federer already played his last grand slam final in 2009/2010, so if he enjoys playing tennis, keep his current setup...if he wants to compete and "hang" withthe stronger younger players, who are more hungirer than Roger is at 30/31, than move up to a 98 or 100 sq. otherwise ti will be QF and SF the rest of your career.. |

Whether or not you think that Fed should change to a larger headed stick, it is a FACT that his shank count is miles higher than Nadal or Djokovic. That's due to the headsize.
