Seeing how most teams will do anything for a Nationals T-shirt...I'm wondering how many players take HGH.....come clean everyone...

That seems really extreme.

I give all my players Winstrol in tablet form. We are steamrolling the 2.5 teams this year.

Oh, I think he means RAMPANT!.... What is HGH?....do you smoke it, ingest it or rub it on....Can you get it if you have a medical marijuana card? ....I take a shower everyday, sometimes twice a day.... King John, Richard the Lion Hearted's brother was distrusted by the populace because he bathed regularly....like once a month. For those interested in the topic of coming clean : http://weuropeanhistory.suite101.com...hs-and-bathing "Mad" magazine was one of my favorites, I wonder sometimes if Alfred E. Newman played tennis? Good topic BTW....for a slow Saturday night in July. Last edited by tennis tom : 07-24-2010 at 11:11 PM. |

What is the reasoning behind HGH supplementation for tennis players?
Enhanced recovery? That's about all I can gather... but that'd be a good reason to supplement assuming one does so in moderation and avoids overgrowth of...organs... YIKES! HGH is injected, and it is prohibitively expensive for most. There are some oral Growth-Factor and HGH-promoting peptides available, and plants containing similar peptides, but I doubt most athletes would take the time to research what they're getting into. The amino-acid HGH-secretagogues are often poorly formulated. That, and amino acids are inexpensive to manufacture, yet the supp. companies gouge. We're not UFC fighters here... So yea - must be a joke? |

Before I answer could someone tell me if HGH is legal or illegal in the USTA league tennis.
AND, can my anonymity be assured by Talk Tennis.

Of course this is a joke! It's coming from a person w/ Alfred E. Newman as their avatar.
This is why I worry about people who take advice from other on this board. Some can't interpret anything they read or see. I'm going to start an equally ridiculous thread. Let's see how many respond "to assist me."

Man up and go with the suppository form.
That's probably the only advantage those at the lower levels (< 3.5) would get. At higher levels the muscle building would be of some benefit. Wonder if the OP will ever tell us the real story. I wonder if he knows how little it would help at the recreational level. Most players would improve more if they ate better and got more sleep. The pros, different story entirely. And does he know that it is completely legal with a MD's ok? Guy I work with is a weightlifting nut - he thinks HGH will drop in price and eventually become the 'Flintstone's Vitamins' for the over 35 crowd.

I think sandbagging with careful game management of wins and losses is more effective and cheaper than HGH

Oh, I thought Rampid was Pfizer's brand name for HGH?

I know cyclists who use HGH and testosterone just to be in the top group on their weekly training rides. They don't even compete.
So I can totally see it being used by recreationally competitive tennis players. Yes, it is also pretty expensive.

Hell, I would be happy to take HGH regularly if I can afford it. As you get older, you wish more and more for the fountain of youth. Couldn't care less about how my tennis game would improve.

I wish I had taken a growth hormone in my 20's. I mean so that I could have grown taller. Look at Isner!

"Rampid" a new word in the tennis player lexicon. Sort of a cross between limpid and rampant, describes my game to a tee. Thankyou!

Depends......does HGH somehow stand for "unforced errors" or "arguing endlessly about etiquette / line calls / rules / anything and everything"?
