How to calibrate tension on stringing machine?

I have a Gamma XST stringer and I got the gamma tension calibrating tool but the readings that I get on it are not even close to the tension that the stringing machine is set at......it appears useless.

Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks

How far off are the readings? The first time I checked my X-ST after about 30 strings jobs it was off by 4 or 5 pounds.

apples and oranges here, but i found my combo 910 to calibrate about 10 pounds high until i put the calibrator in a mounted racket frame, then it was almost dead on. i think if you just mount it in the clamp straight to the tension head the string is not coming in at the intended angle causing to pull more tension than desired (the clamp sits down, well below the stringbed level when not clamping in a frame).

what were your readings respective to set tension? and how did you set up the calibrator?

curious if my experience is a rarity?
