I believe it is a Youtek Head Radical Pro

And thanks OP, for the link. Found 2 more interesting articles written by Rovell. Didn't think he would know this much about the tennis racquet industry. He definitely has done his research. I don't find anything wrong with his findings.

His knowledge about Verdasco and Berdych's racquet troubles/issues is pin-point for sure.

“Sharapova has agreed to participate in a very innovative, pioneering product development program with Prince,” the company said in a statement provided to CNBC. “She will be using some experimental frames over the next few months in practice and in competition. We are well aware that some of the frames she may be using may include racquets that Prince does not carry in its current line. That is part of our program. During this phase of experimentation, she may or may not stencil, but she is a Prince contracted player. We are using one of our marquee athletes to play test, under match conditions, products to help future offerings.”
Ohhh Prince... Good try but do you actually believe anyone buys that?

Is tennis the only sport in which the equipment companies consistantly lie to their consumers about the products their atheletes endorse?

Really? I'm thinking that it's just the MP version (due to the white grommet)

The YouTek Radical Pro also have white grommets. In addition it her racquet have a larger headsize than the MP. It is in my very lowly opinion that Maria Sharapova is using the YouTek Radical Pro.

You're right i think..
One of my best clients uses Youtek Radical Pro racquets and the shape is the same as sharapova racquets.
The stringer they interviewed doesn't got a clue about racquets because the said it was a prestige Prestige racquets don't have 100'' headsize and the fact that the racquet has 8 holes in the throat proves that it's a Radical Pro. It's a 16x19 racquet with 8 holes in the throat and the tieoff of the mains it's on the top of the racquet.

I also found this statement very amusing by the un-named stringer.
Quote:
The stringer, who asked for anonymity, said that it appears like Sharapova’s team has had some custom strips placed over the clamshell stringing strip that closes over the strings as the racket is strung to further disguise that she is using a competitor’s racket.
Where exactly are the custom strips over the C.A.P. System Grommets? LOL

Funny thing is....some years ago when Prince put out the "Experimental" frame which later became the NRG. All the pros played blacked out frames with "Experimental" on them. They were the rage on the boards. Everyone had to have one.

The pros were also stenciled.......

The truth is out there...

Good memory! That was back at 2003 U.S. Open when Prince was trying to create buzz over the new NRG and the Diablo. Prince just blacked out the Original Graphite Longbody for guys like Coria and Ferrero. Also Prince Blacked out the Retro Precision for players like Capriati and Malisse. But they did have experimental and Prince written on them with a Prince stencil on the strings.

Capriati with her Retro Precision Blacked-out to create buzz for the release of the Tour Diablo.

That can't be done with Sharapova's racquets because they are not Prince racquets. Sharapova is using the HEAD YouTek Radical Pro.

The reason Maria has no "P" for the stencil is because of the string she is using. The mains being black, with the crosses being white, would make it difficult to do the stencil, as it won't be visible.

As for the frame, like vsbabolat, I too would like to know what the stringer meant when he/she said they placed "custom strips" over the grommet strip.

You can look at the photos. There is no C.A.P. Grommets and no strips of any kind on Sharapova's racquet. Just the white teflon HEAD traditional grommets on her HEAD racquet. That stringer did not know what he/she was talking about.

^^Agree. Also, a I was watching a match of hers a few weeks ago at a friends house who has a enormous flat screen, which is super duper high quality. We froze it, when they showed a closeup of her butt cap. It is definitely a Head butt cap, blacked out.
