Also, it's the same old issue for me I know, but having now tried a number of different mods set ups, different strings set ups (played with Pacific/MSV earlier today and was maybe a little underwhelmed), etc, the fact remains, I'm still not hitting my usual groundstroke in as desirable a manner as when I wield the APD Original. This is frustrating because it's obviously such a major feature, however, in so many other aspects the Juice is probably a better frame IMO. Have I been a bit quick on the draw with the avatar change?

Jack, thanks, I will let you know. I am wondering what the weight difference would be.
Anyway, let us know how the stick hits and if you notice the bigger gripsize as well compared to the juice.

Lol..I thought the same..uggh. facepalm.
In LA that stuff gets you shot. I also can deal with switching grips. I thought the hybrid pro may have a heavier weight to it though..so it may alter the balance..etc. If I am wrong then this is basically a non issue. I really love the pro hybrid grip.

Ok, just to give some background... I had a NIGHTMARE match on Thursday (talking total game malfunction) and some of that lingered into this morning's session as well - and that was much less to do with the frame and had everything to do with overloading my brain with Bailey method stuff that completely threw me bigtime (massive mistake when you try to cram in too much technique info in such circumstances), so I was on a downer of a mood when I wrote the post you're responding to. Yes, I still prefer the APD on basic g/strokes, but on little else. I'm still finding my feet with the J. It's a great frame, better feel, dampening, serve pop. As for the mods qsn, afraid I can't give a definitive answer yet, Ray. Too many variables like weather (London lately has been damp, slippy, windy), opponents, strings, etc. What I can say is for more all court game the rac is very, very good indeed with a not huge amount of lead @ 12 and 3 and 6. However, I seem to be going lower and lower on the lead front (played today with just 2g @ 12), trying to get it to hit like I want. What I notice though with this is I'm launching a bit too much. Considering now going right down to low 40s, full job TB or a low power softish full poly, zero lead. Further to that, I'm wondering if really I'm a full poly man at heart. Thinking specifically about N.Vy, which I've been crossing with for quite a while, and, er, maybe I should give it a break. And TBH I also wasn't quite as impressed with gut/poly that I played today as I thought I'd be. But how about you, gents? What's happening with you frames-wise etc? Where are you at right now on this racketaholic tennis bum odyssey?

Hit with my buddy's juice pro again. Great feel with this thing. A really awesome stick, but I prefer the Blade. The JP is really nice though and probably one of the better offerings.
I am hitting with so much more power now. I played lacrosse lefthanded and I think it screwed my footwork up. Basically I was using left handed footwork playing right handed tennis sometimes. So now that I fixed that, I am hitting so much better. I feel better for my friend that I hit with because we have insane rallies now - he was really impressed with the changes. The recovery steps are happening automatically now so I am covering the court a lot better. It makes playing on clay far easier. This wilson tour bag - so good. I am really happy to have gotten it before the weekend. For $60 it has to be the best bag you can get. We will see how it holds up, but I love the storage on it. My friend was not into the 105s at all either. "too much power, no control" those were his main 2 comments. He hits with a lot of spin too. It is plain and simple a beginner's stick.
