Ross, yes definitley there is a magic to those older frames that you will not find in the steam room. What i am messing with now is if heavier weight is working now because i have progressed to using my body more or if its just a toxic honeymoon.
Either way, the blade is the only stick i have used that fuses the players stick feel with the baseline goodness of the tweener. At stock, it plays great and only recently began to feel rather light to me. I think the more you stay with a stick, the stronger you get and the more weight you can add. The leaded up blade feels absolutley pro stockian and solid beyond belief. Between the steam and the blade, many many holics could be rather happy.

Due to injury the PSL's have been indefinitely retired.
I have some new sleek puppies to take out, maybe some pictures tonight... -Fuji

^ooohhhh... the pro-stock mids?! Still want those.
Pro-Stockian....... word of the day. Ross, (lindsay lohan-like?!.. RH's, what's the consesnus on OS frames? Some recent threads I've been reading, PP's avatar and a failed (but short) attempt to groove with the MgRadOs ~year ago, has me itching again.

Fuji: I got thumped tonight by a PSL. Great player, smoked the ball, hit line after line. Ross: is the PC Swirly a grandfather to the regular Pure Storm, essentially? (Around 11 oz, 16/20 pattern, etc)? Klem: OS frames. I'm mixed. I always feel like I should make the game easier by playing with larger heads, then always veer to the smaller stuff, mids, 95s. Very snobbish RH behavior. Limited experience in the OS game, though. All: coffee drinking has begun. T-minus three hours, 30 minutes until epic Fed-Murray showdown. Greatly looking forward to this one. |

Post Removed... McLovin - you may want to delete your post/pic too lol!
Q. How Long Time-wise Is Someone Meant To Allow To Pass Before Match Results Can Be Referred To? This Match Ended Ages Ago.

I now have a 355 gram Blade. This is madness. If I can get grooving with it, I may have a monster weapon. So far groundies have been surprisingly easy, but I have really had some nice technique changes that allow me to use it with less effort than before.
Saw that Taylor Dent used retail KBlades with gross amounts of lead (377 grams, plus super high SW). It makes sense..this stick feels like a cadillac with lead on it. I am sure Klem knows what I am saying here as we now have very similar setups (19 grams in handle, 6 in head at 3 and 9, balance of 32.5). Klem..any idea of what that crappy new grip weighed that you removed for leather? If I ever got a black blade, I'd put on a pro hybrid. I know that weighs 22 grams.

^You called?....
14 grams trimmed for the new slime-grips (not a typo), so the same as a prince resi-pro or babo skynfeel. I really need a 2nd blade for reference, as you suggest. Still kind of of P.O'd at my bro for destroying the BLX1 I had. 355 strung is where I'm at without OG, damp. Nice set-up for sure. Only problem is strings seem to lose their tension really, really quick at this weight. Gotta find something softer than 4g as well, yet with the same tension holding capabilities.

Dude Awesome. So instead of layering 8 grams of lead under the grip, I can just wrap a pro hybrid on.
I also put a nickle and folded up lead tape under the buttcap so I didnt have to silicone or do anything to the foam in the handle. It definitely is nice to have a stock blade in case my experiment fails. The secret is you must do everything the same. Same string setup, same tension, even same dampener. I am pretty much dialed in with the Ice/OGSM setup at 51 #s. Its just awesome and feels perfect in the weighted stick. I notice heavier sticks seem to dull out the string job and make it feel less vibratey and more substantial. So the Ice and OGSM retain that crisp ball feel that I love, and the racquet adds in the plushness. Ice is probably not softer than 4G but it holds tension rather well. It's a 10 hour setup. String once a week basically. But I was doing that with the 4G as well. The main issue for you is that nothing plays like 4g and is softer that I have used. So with that, I would suggest a very nice control setup that I liked (it was just too soft for me). The Volkl Cyclone/OGSM combo.

Cyclone huh..... I vaguely remember trying that in 16x19 pattern a while back, could be great in the blade. Thanks.

Ahhh.. the Spoiler of Suffolk......
I don't mind one bit Ross, in fact, I prefer knowing who wins these big matches, even if I haven't seen the match. Doesn't retract from enjoying the replayed match, I can key in on 'the' moment a certain player had the win and why he/she lost it. Now if I could find a way to know who wins before the match starts, I'd be a richer man. Woke up at 6am in a daze, the TV on (been having tennis dreams lately, cheering, grunting, ball striking, etc..) and remember thinking, 'these guys are hitting the felt off the ball'. Then off to work.

All I know is, Murray is a totally different player than he was two years ago. The skinnier counterpuncher is now a MUCH bigger, stronger HITTER of the ball. Hitter/counterpuncher roles were reversed last night.
Enjoyed the match immensely. Loved the fight both players exhibited. Still pretty sure it was the equivalent of a second-place/silver medal match, though. Just don't see the Djoker being very bothered, the way he's making the game look like ping pong right now. |

I wish I was good enough to be playing full time with my pro stock mids, they are my children! Haha!
Anyway, this should tie me over a few months at least baring no crazy injuries somehow prevent me from using them... ![]() Cheers, -Fuji
