I just checked the 2 frames I've been using which feel a tad heavy and a tad light. The heavy one is 330g, 330SW and the light feeling one 328g, 322 SW.

The 330 is actually the one I set up like yours except I already took off 4 of the 8" and took 3g out of the handle (b/c it felt heavy last night at what must have been 333SW or so?). I'll try it tonight at 330SW but still swings a bit heavy. If I'm looking for ~325-327SW I don't know if removing the 4g of lead at 3&9 would even get me there, which would be stock plus 1.5 overgrips.

I haven't really tried just matching SW before. These two would be setup pretty differently to achieve that, but maybe that's why I've had a hard time getting them to feel the same.

Yeah, the Storm Team was the #4 demo wild card in my box as well - was inspired by seeing a club pro crushing with it a week or two prior. The #4 position in the TW demo box is a dangerous place.
Yep, old ugly K 104 here. #4 demo position will throw you off every time!

I pretty much copied the setup gads gave me from that pro. Got me to the 326 weight and the SW is the same as well. Its just 6 total grams at 3 and 9 in the head, and I put 7 grams in the handle.

Lol, just checking, and curious because every so often one hears of some baddass laying it down with an unleaded Team of various brands.

The Steam Room is so last month.

good to know. i can probably use the same setup or something very similar. maybe a smidgen less lead in the hoop and more in the handle. as i suspected, my ideal SW is 320-325.

i think those bad@$$es are so good that they can lay it down with an aluminum stick from walmart if they needed to.

Yeah he had lead from about 2-4 or maybe even a tad more than that. Not sure what he had in or under the overgrip but after a great hit - guy was hitting so solid and every slice was just insanely low and skidding - I took notice as we chatted afterwards that he'd been swinging a Team. I'd thought it was the Tour or something.

I really liked the way my demo swung with about 6.5 grams wrapped near the top of the handle beneath grip and overgrip , and about 6 grams of lead at the sides of the hoop from 2-4.

I dunno, though

friend of mine used to use the 6.1 Team completely stock.

big hitting 5.5, won rounds in futures when he was young

now he uses (get this!) standard Steam 100s..

Okay, recalling last night's posts, just rummaged around the kitchen cupboards and to my surprise managed to dig up some digital kitchen scales...

Blade 16x19 no. 1 (STRUNG w/dampener and just an OG) = 311g/10.9oz

Blade 16x19 no. 2 (UNSTRUNG w/bare grip) = 293g/10.3oz

Er, can that be right?

I could see the 6.1 Team being more usable stock because it's stiffer, more inherently powerful. Thats what the 6.1 lineage is all about. The PS is softer, more muted, less power. At stock weight I don't think it'd do a lot, and with lead it still swings so easily but there's more beef for block backs and plow.

Your handle weight is just putty in the trap door, though, yeah? I'd like to try both lead at top of grip as well as lead at the bottom of the handle to see if there's a difference. I feel like I feel the weight more (in a good way) with lead toward the top of grip but it's been awhile since I've bottom weighted a frame so it's worth a revisit.

Sounds so. With strings, you have a stick about 5 grams over spec. Annoying, but not awful.

Yes. Doesnt take much for 7 grams. I like it so much i did the same mod to the 104. Just put 8 grams in the head instead of 6. They both play very very well like this.

I like to bottom weight team sticks because they are balanced more head heavy. This way i can tip it a hair more hl since i added weight.

PP, is the putty easy to remove and such? Before I would always tail weight sticks with a nickel/folded lead and it just never felt so comforting. The putty sounds better.

Excellent; thanks. Now I'm definitely interested. It'll be in the #4 "Gads slot" next demo round.

People often say that you add +/- 15 grams for strings so they may not be too far off.
