No way, if anything it was a draw but Pacquiao had the slightest lead in my book. The challenger didn't do anywhere near enough to win the belt.

Marquez won for sure, Pacquiao knows it, Freddie Roach knows it...but of course with the biggest "money" fight ahead with Mayweather-Pacquiao there is no way in hell Marquez is gonna walk away with a W via decision over the current boxing's golden goose. This is boxing afterall.

Never watch boxing ever again. Marquez won 116-112 at the very least, and that's being generous to pac.

Anyway I can't wait for Pac to get r@ped by Mayweather. Marquez has basically beaten Pac twice (minus the judges being paid off to give it to pac) and Mayweather destroyed Marquez. Pac has zero chance and all the pac nuthuggers in this thread and elsewhere will finally wake up to reality when he loses

When a fight is this close the win has to go to the agressor. Especially if he is also the current champion. You can't expect to come and take the title from a champion like Pac and spend the whole fight retreating.

Mayweather will be able to get away with it though because he is already a champion so they are on even ground. Not to mention he is way better than Marquez when it comes to fighting chicken-sh*t style.

steal, right? You guys should've seen the mexican broadcasters going crazy... they were at Las Vegas, throwing papers and their faces were a poem (spanish phrase...)

I was rooting for Pacquiao and I though he got whooped. Anyways, boxing might be the dirtiest, easiest sport to fix out there.

Its amazing how subjective boxing is. I'm a mexican. I watched it with my whole family (father, mother, 2 bros and their girlfriends, wife) We were ALL rooting for Marquez, and we ALL saw it as the right decision. We were dissapointed he lost but impressed he put up such a good fight.

interesting insight, I watched from RD 10 onward, and saw nothing but Marquez, and of course the Azteca TV panel had scored almost every round 10-9 for Marquez....

If its debatable, even for mexicans, then I guess it wasnt a steal as much as a close fight, could it have gone for any one of them, or do you feel Pacquiao won it for sure?

Marquez won the fight.
Bad decision for the Mexican but the "right" verdict for so many other $$$$ reasons.
That's boxing for you.

The biggest shame this fight brings is that once again Marquez's career is defined "by coming up short" against Manny. How could you not give this one to JMM as an unbiased viewer, (BTW the whole fight I had a feeling some BS would happen) Manny's corner was panicking after the first round. Manny showed no aggression last night as well, he did not once in my eyes put a solid combination together in the fight. PBF is going to outclass and embarrass Manny on May 5th as Floyd is a truly skillful fighter (BTW this is coming from a Floyd hater. )

I feel pacman won it by a small margin but because he is the reigning champion and the agressor in the entire fight...those two factors make it a for sure win IMO

the fight was filled with highlights of Pacquiao punching air while eating countering punches from Marquez
there was no highlight of Pacquiao connecting any meaningful combination whatsoever...NONE

Bingo!

You nailed it in the head.

Pac-man's "air punches" are symbolic of his exaggerated hype

This was a clear points victory for Marquez.

Now that other boxers have seen Pacman's real shape they will be smelling blood, so he has no choice but go back to super-duper-juicing to prevent a further embarrassment and possible collapse
.

I think pac-man purposfully fought bad knowing two judges were on his side. That way PBF would see him as weak and finally take the fight.

Truth is that Pac and PBF have both fought tomato cans for the better part of the last 5 years. Pac is easier to like and understand. Dont forget to buy his hand sanitizer though and vote him into congress.

I saw the fight 115-113 Marq. could understand draw or 115-113 Pac, but 116-112 Pac was noth there.

Pac squeaked a few rounds out barely and it meens the same as the rounds Marq busted him good. Judges are slow to throw out a 10-8 without a knockdown. if they did Marq wins easily.

I think Pacquiao could have fared better had Marquez not employed this new "footwork" strategy...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=WwAeQzMTXUY

Despite this, Marquez still fought a good fight

^ Nonsense nitpicking (as is usual for most Youtube-sports highlight-reels)

And lest ye forget this was a fight that lasted 12 rounds.

Maybe so, I didn't really notice it during the fight tbh, but you gotta admit that stepping on ones foot has to hinder their boxing ability. IMO I think the fight should have been a draw, or at most a SD for marquez. But at least manny has been avenged for the robbery of their first fight.

As much as I absolutely loathe the guy I am pretty sure Floyd would knock out Manny.

Floyd has excellent defense and more knockout power than Manny.

I would be ecstatic if Manny could pull it off though.

If Mayweather wont fight him next year he is a huge coward.

Go Manny.
