Just got my 6 yo a 25'' Prince Ignite. Has anyone had a junior racquet restrung and would it make a difference? If so, what string & tension??? thinking it might be better on his arm since he plays 5 times a week. thanks.

I agree prince synthetic 17g is a great string for young kids.We were using nxt but its a pretty expensive.I strung her rackets with prince synthetic and she said that she likes it better it has a stiffer feel than the nxt. Both are good strings.Im sure when she gets a little older we will switch to a poly but now she is only breaking strings once every 2 or 3 weeks.

I say Prince Syn Gut 16, or 17. My son plays with Prince TopSpin Plus, but he is a bit older(11) so I don't mind changing broken strings every week. Gives him great spin. Tension, that depends on your kid. 26kg here.

With regulation balls or even QS78, I would play it real safe and restring it with something soft at low tension. My son is 8, plays 4-5 times a week with mostly QS78 (green), and I restrung his racquet with full nat. gut at 40 lbs. Why risk their tiny arms? |

Thanks for the feedback. 40 lbs it is. We've been playing with pressureless balls since we started a couple of years ago. I did zero research on the different options so we've been hitting with these from the beginning. We're taking it easy with practice sessions and nothing too strenuous. He's not hitting against the dragon......yet.

Im 14 and i use RPM blast 17 at 58. It doesn't hurt my arm at all so i think that this is a good setup to use.

Nadal doesn't even have his RPM Blast that high. A girl 8-10 years old: I'd go with something very soft (and cheap), especially if you string yourself. Try Gamma Challenger. There is plenty of playability. Tension range depends on the racquet. Post that info if you wish, but as others say, keep it low. She can work up from there if it begins to matter. What is she using, a 23 or 25 frame?

she wont be snapping strings that often at that age so a syn gut, with good tenision maintenance is key as the string will drop to a low tension if the strings arent snapping or you arent restringing it regularly, 45lbs tension wise might be good as remember the string will lose quite a bit of tension in the first day.
