Default Changing groundstroke grip for a youngster

Any tips on teaching a 6 yr old to be able to switch from a forehand grip to the 2 hand backhand and vice versa. His groundstrokes off both wings are solid but when we start to rally he obviously has a little difficulty changing from one grip to the other. Appreciate any and all suggestions.

Repetition will fix that.Play alot of mini tennis with him with the quickstart balls. My 5 year old son struggles with that as well.I think that alot of liveball mini tennis with you hitting to both sides will help him alot..GOOD LUCK!!!!

I found that my kids responded better to cause/effect more than talking about the grip when they were really young. Open the racket face and ask them where the ball will go... up. Close the racket face ask ask them where the ball will go... down. Face the racket perpendicular to the court and... well you get it. When I did this, I found that they started to find the right grips naturally. Now that my son is 8, he understands grips better and we can tinker with them more. My daughter, 6, is still in the cause/effect stage.
