Just under 50#, currently use Acura Control at 55#. Are you stringing one or two-piece?

Just got done with the TF x-one biphase and got a different result from mikeler. Even strung at 54 I got uncontrollable power. This is the third multi I've tried recently and the only one I had to cut out. IMO RIP Control and Yonex Tour Super 850 are both far superior strings in the control, spin and feel departments.

TF Tfight 320... the 16x19 may have attributed to the complete lack of control

I purchased set of this X-tra dynamic (visually it looks same as X1) and I strung it into my Rebel 98 at 26 kg. Bouncing ball it felt very good, I was really looking for trying it for real. When I hit it 1st time on court it was pure chaos. NO (ABSOLUTELY NO) feel of pocketing, it was like a board with tremendous pop. I couldnt put any serve in because it has ZERO spin and rocket-power. I play with something between semi-w and western forehand and I couldnt get the ball safely over net without it going long. My worst experience ever - its not worth 1$. |

I was on a 4 match losing streak heading into my match last night. So I pulled out the Genesis Multi Max racket and another racket with the DM in it. The plan was to hit a few balls with the prototype in the warm up and then put it back in the bag. That plan never came to fruition.
While the first 2 prototypes were lackluster, this one is a home run. It reminded me of my first outing with X1. The string just inspired confidence in my shots. Power was great, spin was really good, comfort was there, had a nice crisp feel, string movement was average, touch was great. The list goes on. We shall see how it performs in terms of durability and tension maintenance. |

Thanks, Mikeler,
I enjoy the older, softer, smaller frames of the past and , as you know, tried the mantis CS after following your posts. As an old schooler with neutral grips, flat shots, and a love of feel, the MCS was a joy at moderate tensions - stable yet great pocketing. Worked great on a larger stiffer modern frame - tighter stringing - low powered but still good pocketing for some feel and less power. Another option, at least for me, is a hybrid of MCS mains and a soft multi cross (Head Fibregel 16) - softens the MCS a bit and reminds me very much at mid tensions like natural gut in the past before the stiffening of recent years. For the feel - spectacular in a 90, 18X20, softer vintage frame - the feeling is a visit to the past where string power and feel allowed a moderately powered frame a remarkable variety of solid response across the stringbed. This thread and others are great for those of us who really want to enjoy the game. |

Thanks Frank! I broke the Genesis Multi Max after 4 sets of singles. It broke exactly like MCS. Once the outer sheath broke, the string did not last much longer. I think the string is MCS with a different gray coating. Time to string up Tier One Triumph.

Just strung up the Triumph. Took 36 minutes of stringing time while watching a football game. Super easy to string up. Seems pretty resistant to string movement too. Ball bounce test it feels nice. Next after this one will be Dunlop DNA.

The B Power prototype broke in my warm up this AM when I was warming up my opponent and he was taking volleys. Kind of strange considering the string were barely notched and it was not a shank.
So I got to play 2 sets of singles and 1 set of dubs with Tier One Triumph. It is very similar to DM. It plays a little more crisp and the strings are harder to move with my fingers so I think the only difference is the coating. |

Strung up Dunlop DNA just now. Feels kind of unusual bouncing balls off it.

The B Power was the first full multi that I've hit with in a really long time and felt nice in my PDR. But, it snapped really fast on me too. Right now I need a little more durability, but maybe some day...

I don't think that string is going to make the cut but we shall see. How long did it last for you? |
