Ross I got an awesome piece of spam from you this morning. Looks like your email has been hacked...anyone else?

I'm not sure how technically minded you are Ross, but some notes in case you're concerned about this email:
- There are two primary ways something like this happens. The first is called spoofing, and is when someone sends an email and makes it look like it came from you. The other is to access an account and actually send it from within. The obvious thing to check is your sent mail - if these emails are there, then the account has been compromised. - Change the password to your email account. - Check the settings in your email account. You may well have a second email associated with this account so that if you forget your password you can get it unlocked. Make sure this second email is correct and hasn't been changed. - If you have accounts with Amazon, Paypal, etc associated with this email address and use the same password, change that too. Unless you have the memory of a fish, use a different password to the email one. - Run a virus scan. - Make sure OS, browser etc. software is up to date. Even if the account was compromised, it's far more likely that it was automated rather than someone physically doing it and poking about. If you were to sit down and hack into someone's account, you probably wouldn't alert them to it by sending spam email. So I'd do a spot of housekeeping, but wouldn't be overly worried unless I saw any rogue activity elsewhere.

Now if he'd of been robbed of his racquet bag and asked to borrow one we'd probably be the one to send an email to, but money? No i don't have any actual cash, it's all in graphite! |

New passwords and some virus destruction sorted it out but it was a big PITA!

UKRHs,
Thanks one and all. Yes, I was hacked on my mac. Sorry for the ludicrous begging messages saying how I'd been robbed in Italy etc. A complete PITA business, the aftermath of which has messed around with my yahoo account, ie my contacts/address book is completely erased and empty, saved email have all vanished, what were emails in my inbox are now in my trash... it's a bloody mess. Have followed procedures (changed password, rejigged settings a bit, reported it, deleted actual virus email) and am looking into a few other measures. Thanks Dags - great info there, very helpful.

Put some sticks up for sale in the correct section if anyone's interested. Feel like I haven't played in forever

Finally played again on Monday, hallelujah! The world is saved! Seriously, it felt good. Armed the ball out of rust but had a blast! I just wish there were indoor courts and a buzzing club where I am.

Draws for the club tournament are up. 12 players in the men's singles. 10 pairs in the men's doubles. No sign of mixed or ladies' draws, which probably means there is none. If I win my first singles match, in the second round I'll face the number 1 seed (he had a bye). I've been told he's 14. I'm really hoping I get through to face him, as I'd like to find out how I compare to a decent junior (probably get smoked, but my ego can cope with that. I think.

Getting there. Have been able to jog for a few weeks now for short periods and able to hit but not play if you see what I mean. Fingers crossed it will get sorted shortly. I don't even want to look at tennis on the TV at the moment!

Thanks Ross, they are saying it's going well but that I'll never have the same stability/range of motion. That and I've gotten fat(ter) being non-sporting in the meantime so it looks like a diet and some physio work for a while for me
On the plus side I think I cured my "too many racquets" obsession |

Any UKRHs tried this Lux 4G string yet? If so, any opinions?

^^ I haven't seen it available in the UK yet, Ross. It's at TWE, but for €21.68 (plus shipping unless you order over €75). It had better be good at that price!
It's one I want to try, but I'm trying to use up a load of existing string first. The EXO3 Tour is helping with this, my relative lack of court time for the past 2 months not so much...

I had some 4G from Wimby, but I gave it to Jamie. Not sure if he's used it yet.

Actually, Paul (or others)... do you happen to know what Wilson's policy is on when they are releasing the new open pattern Blade and the Steam S here in the UK? Just wondering if we'll have to wait ages in the UK, or if Wilson will release these frames simultaneous with the USA etc. TIA if anyone knows.
