Well yeah but I made it sound better than it is. It's just absent of content really...

On another note, Ross I've been wearing contacts since my eyes went about 5-6yrs ago. The trading screens for 14hrs a day did for them. I find them fine to play in, no problems at all. I didn't get on with glasses while playing at all though, the ball coming in and out of the area of vision really didn't work for me. The contacts was like having my eyes back, just superb.

Have made the switch to the BLX Pro Open from the MG Prestiges also. Been having a great time with them and the added power and lower weight are helping a lot now in keeping the swing speed up throughout the match. Great racquets for what they are. I still miss the Prestiges for the first set and for that pure ball bashing ability but not thereafter.

^^^ Rob, will have to wait for what transpires. Must say though, in a dim early morning light, smallish print of road maps etc - the other day I was suddenly really struggling. Never happened before either.

Interesting re frames switch. I still find (and this is my fear in some ways), I miss the b-line topspin bashing suitability of the APD. But I don't have to be playing with the PP for very long to realise that the precision, feel, solidness, sweet swinging, balance and weighting, effortless pop, etc (and I could go on), of these frames far outweighs the one, maybe two great qualities the APD has.

Yeah it's difficult as it's always a trade off. I find that at the moment I just can't carry the Prestiges for a whole match and play the game I want. I'm a very aggressive attacking player and I just don't have the fitness anymore. For me it's a trade off between a great first set and a real dip or a lower but more consistent level throughout the match. That and I'm primarily a big serve, big forehand player so the extra power and lighter weight on the serve is no bad thing as I'm getting more spin so in effect more controlled power later into the match.

I have to get a tripod for my camcorder as I really feel I'm missing something on the backhand at the moment though.

Have yo0u seen the gorilla pods?I got mine from Asda one day its a tripod with bendy legs that can attatch to court fences etc, allows different angles to look at what you are doing.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking of getting. The only issue I can think of is that they are very short, so presumably putting them on the floor is not going to yield great results

Thats the only drawback to them though each leg is multi adjustable so angles can be alter to get everyone in shot!
THere are two, i went for the SLR one as its rated to a higher weight, have had my camcorder on it too. I was sat in jessops testing one before i got it.Much easier to drag around than a "proper" triod!

UKRHs!

Enough about tennis and let's talk beers!... albeit, this is something of a cautionary note...

Yellow Hammer...

OMG, no thanks ... almost vomitted! ... BEWARE!... much more of that and I'd quickly be back to the lager and ciders!

Anyway, fully recovered now, and looking forward to another night of beerage down here in pastie-land.

Carry on, men.

Where do you go to find these drinks? I'v elived in Darzet all my life but some of the name you come up with, hold on are you in the West Country......?
I've always been amused by any beverage that has something growing or living in it.I remember in my youth a tequilla with a worm in it, does that still exist?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Ferryman

So jealous that you might have it in a pub near you.

Badger Ales

Ferret has been a favourite of mine over the winter months. Will have to see where the palate takes me come spring.

Dave,

These ales are usually Southern Devon specialities, so to speak. Family live here so spend a fair amount of time down in these parts, though I'm a Londoner for vast majority of the year (unfortunately.)

Default Lotto shoes...

Hi guys, just a heads up.

Saw some Lotto shoes on sale, previously owned by a current ATP player. Really nice shoes, grass/astroturf and multicourt soles. Nice and comfy, felt good on the foot. Unfortunately, only in size 11.

On sale for armed robber prices! Sadly, I didn't think to note down the name of the shoes.

PM me for details if interested as to where I saw them and price etc. (don't want to fall foul of TW).

watching Wawrinka in Acapulco just looks so smooth this year, I think he must be on the ald beta blockers. Im expecting big things this year, not winning a GS but being competitive throughout.

Default Swimming and Tennis

How's everyone doing tennis wise? Really enjoying myself playing with my Donnay. Gonna offload some of the others. Recently took up swimming and while I'm only slightly ahead in the H2H (4-2), I think my legs are stronger already. Before playing tennis yesterday, I lost the last round in the pool. Cannot breathe for the life of me! Several gulps of water (and God knows what else!) and I gave up to go play tennis!

Heard about this beer shop and bar in Borough Market last night. Apparently the shop stocks about 600 beers from around the world. Definitely hitting that some time soon.

Sounds right up my strasse (well, you did live for a while in Germany, right? )... I've only been there a few times but Borough Market is an incredible place. Really good.

At the moment I am using Head Radical purchased from JJB Sports,
I got this few months ago, they had and currently have the same offer 3for2
As I use Quidco this means 8% cashback so I purchased 6 dozen which adds up to around £40 - £3.2 from Quidco so about £37 which worked out at around just over £2 per can of 4 tennis balls which I think is the cheapest.
Regarding delivery since it has to be above £50 I got it delievered to store and I went and picked it up..
To be honest with you I am regretting the amount purchased reason being the balls are not the best and do not last long. Saying this I would say for the value of £2 per can lets say its worth it..
I made a mistake previously when they had 3for2 I should of got more Wilson US Open 3 balls as they are better than the Head Radical..

I am trying to buy a bulk of Slazenger Ultra Vis from Sports Direct see if they may give a small discount, but there website contact information is shite, does anyone have an actual customer service email address for them?
