Quick question, what string is this abbreviation "WT"? I can't do a thread search because it's only 2 letters, 3 minimum required... Going back a few pages, the most information I see is "WT Pro".

Maybe. The reason I hesitate is because textured strings like to bite into soft ones. I was so surprised that B5E didn't do this that I leave it out of this category. Hexablade, however, did. That felt and played like absolute crap, probably because the poly notched into the gut after a few hits and basically became a board.

Well since you already determined your goat set up in a hybrid, maybe you could do some more play tests of poly in a full bed set up?

pvaudio - if you're trying full poly now, how about B5E/Scorpion? do u think that would work in the 100?

pv, have you used full bed of Kirsh Competition in your stick?

I played someone a few weeks ago with that setup (same stick as you as well) and his spin and power was threatening. Curious how it matches up to what you've used so far.

That's an interesting idea, I'll think about it

Ooh, I forgot that I have one more WC poly to test. I need to playtest Turbotwist 1.18 with the gut to see which is really the ultimate WC poly

Ever use WC Xpulse (repulse)? Or is that one of their older, outdated strings?

PVAudio- have you used WeissCANNON Black5Edge in a full bed? If so, what did you think about it?

Thanks

PVAudio,

Just got a half set of B5E from Bad_Call. I think I'll try it in the mains with MCS crosses in my Babolat PSTs. Any tension suggestions?

JT, I'm almost sure that Repulse is an older string. I got one set a while ago, but didn't bother testing it. I'm pretty sure that you'll be better with either Scorpion, Silverstring or B5E, based on the comments around the forum. I'm not a fan of SS though

Forget about WC Repulse. While other WC strings are great, Repulse is probably the worst poly I’ve ever tested (though I’ve not tested much). It plays decent while fresh, but loses playability in 2-3 hours max, awful tension stability. Besides that, it breaks extremely easy, I don’t usually break strings as I have 18X20 string pattern racquet and on top of that I change strings after 8-10 hours of play, but I managed to snap Repulse 3 times before that mark.

Besides, I’ve heard that Repulse was discontinued (no wonder WC stopped wasting time on this)…

^^ cool, saw a reel of it for like $40, so it sounds that isn't even worth it. Thanks for the input!

I've got a boatload of new strings coming in to add to the stable. Will update what the newcomers are once they all arrive

String it low. I usually string 55 and strung this at 54. Way underpowered and didn't feel good until it drpped to high 40s
