Yeah, it's just difficult on some shots since I can't always generate great RHS needed. Either way, it's still astounding from all areas of the court.

So its downsides are that it's a little wild sometimes and doesn't hold tension as well as the WC strings, right? Maybe the L-TEC strings will be the solution! (For some reason I doubt it. They almost sound too good to be true.) Oh, and does 55 WT/52 Scorpion sound like a good place to start? I think I may have already asked you that... I played with 50 LT/47 Scorpion the other day and really liked the gut quality but not that line's characteristics too much.

Great. Thanks again for all your assistance!
So are you waiting for the L-TEC stings before doing another play test? And do you have to wait for the public release or are you getting some demos? They're really killing me with all their hype. (I guess that's what hype's for...) |

I honestly have no idea IF I'll be getting anything. A guy I sold an AG100 to ( I can't recall his TT name, he posted in this thread though) referred me to the guy. He said he'd put me on the list if they need further playtesting. As it stands right now, I've found what I'm looking for, so unless someone actually wants something specific, then I'll wait to see if these new strings are what they're made out to be.

Okay, got ya. Same here: I think I've found my set up and probably won't demo anything else unless these strings are every bit as grand as they're supposed to be.

Hahaha wow..small world. I guessed based on reading your username. You're the only person that I know of let alone strings for who uses that stick. And yep, I'm still here! Grad student now, and still playing and stringing

Definitely! Once classes settle in, I'll have a more concrete schedule. Just send me a text some time you're free!

Dave,
I'm the guy who bought your AG100, who gave you the L-Tec guy's contact info. I've remained in contact with him and I'm supposed to be getting some sort of kit in 2 weeks with a few different strings and some lit regarding the various hybrid options. I'll send it over to you when I get it. You'll write more comprehensive reviews and have a much bigger basis for comparison anyway. That's if you don't receive the same pkg. I'm pretty into full beds of Solinco Tour Bite at 58 in YOUR old racquet right now (I feel like the last guy at the party just discovering Tour Bite). With regard to L-Tec , I gathered that this guy has the distribution rights, the factory calls the technology "L-Tec", and there will be some sort of confusing rebranding going on like we saw with Discho/Mamba. I'll just email him and ask, and hopefully get some more info up here. James

I have some info up in a new thread specifically for L-Tec.
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showt...13#post5965613 I'm looking forward to your reviews later this month. I also have an email in to John and will have more info to follow.

Well I just got back from playing again. An interesting development, however. The one racquet which I didn't like, LT/Co Focus, has I guess broken in and now I like that even more than the regular WT/Co Focus. It has the same attributes except a touch less power which is desired. Unlike the HT and XHT guts, its low power feeling doesn't translate to feeling stiff. Problem is that it took about 5 hitting hours to get good. If I hit 3x a week at an hour a pop, then obviously it takes a week and a half to break in. That's too long. Therefore, I think that I should either string the LT around 40lbs and the Co Focus around 43, OR, I should try a different cross with the WT mains. I've been thinking about using Scorpion again for that, so I think that may be next.

My vote is for you trying WT/Scorpion again, especially since you helped me pick it!

I think that'll be next! I don't particularly like Silverstring as a cross as it damps gut's liveliness in my opinion, but Scorpion should be a different beast. It is already far livelier than Silverstring, so we'll see!

Okay, cool. I'm looking forward to your evaluation. I can't remember, did you ever try Scorpion in this configuration or only as the main?
Also, do you happen to know when the WT will be back in stock on the Bay? |

I did indeed try it before. Difference is that it was both at a higher tension and in a different stick.
