You hit a nice ball. My comment of the video as a whole is that it is a smidgen long for my liking... My criteria for college videos is typically a 15-30 sec intro (check), minute for groundies from all angles (no check), minute for volleys and overheads from all angles (semi-check), minute of all your serves (check), and then two minutes-ish of point-play (no check).

I think you should get a lot of coaches looking at you. Good luck!

At first I thought you were hitting against a ball machine cuz I had my volume turned all the way down and then you panned out and saw the other guy. Seriously consistent there on a variety of shots. Can't comment on the video itself and what the intended audience would think since I have no clue but I like the shots.

I dont think that sort of thing matters as much as the result of the shot, great consistency and depth. Just imagine Nadals college video...

Not really. All he has to do is drop the racquet a little bit and it looks like a 'normal' take-back. The OP hit's the ball flat for the most part. Look at players that hit flat on tour. Look at players that hit flat in general. Simple, short strokes for the most part.

Good point. After all, Agassi had pretty short, simple strokes although a normal person wouldn't be able to emulate them without hours and hours on the practice court, because of how much time Andre put into them over the years.

It's hard to tell without seeing tournament results and sectional rankings. He's got a nice game, but some matchplay would be nice on the video too. It's too hard just to judge from his strokes. I look great just hitting too, but when it comes down to it my skill level would max out at D2.

That's more like it. You have some nice points against this guy. If he is indeed that highly ranked then this is pretty impressive. You could play at any school you wanted outside of the elite DI universities. If you want a big school experience, go for DI, but if you like the small schools then DII or III are there too. If you have decent grades, you could get just as much money for academics from the small schools as you would for tennis at the big schools.

Agreed. I think that a mid-to-high DII university would be looking for a player like you to come in and play anywhere from #1-#4. If you do want to play at a DI university, you could probably play #5-#6 for a school around the #75-#100 mark in the college rankings. Heck, you might even be able to play for a higher level college. Your grades will make a difference in where you want to go tho.

Just keep in mind that DIII schools don't offer athletic scholarships.

Right, but if his grades are good, the academic money could be just as good if not better than a partial athletic scholarship at a D1 school.

I get all my stuff through the wholesaler that supplies the club where I work. It's tough to get a sponsorship unless you really up your reputation as a player or pro.
