The HEAD socks are nice, but I recently invested in Thorlos and I see a major difference. The Thorlos are primarily made from acrylic material, HEAD from cotton.

More importantly, the Thorlos are padded more in the toes whereas the HEAD socks are evenly padded from heel to toe. For me, I got better arch support and cushioning near the toes with the Thorlos.

I also believe the Thorlos maintain their cushioning longer. Being cotton, the HEAD socks shed more material after a few washings.

Love the price of the HEAD socks, but I can clearly see the difference with Thorlos and I'm buying more of 'em after the Holidays.

I just discovered a local mom and pop store that sells the full range of Thorlos for under $10 a pair, vs. the $13 and up elsewhere. Picked up a moderate and a thick cushioning pair...they feel so warm, soft, smooth, and supple when you slip your feet in them- it's like sex for your feet.

Yeah, I guess both can give you black and blue "appendages" from getting jammed. LOL

Amen to that. I tried them in the winter and liked them. Once summer hit I hated them. My feet sweat like crazy and my feet also slide inside the sock itself they are so slick. All cotton socks for me from now on. Wigwam King Cotton socks are the best.

Surely you can't be serious.

Not double Thorlos??

Do you mean Thorlo doubled with another kind of thinner sock?

I've never worn a Thorlo sock, but I've been wearing 2 pairs of addidas socks and I like that.

If I wear Thorlo L3s, do you think I still need to wear 2 pairs? (assuming the other sock is thinner...ie...not 2 thorlos)

I lol'd.

Then I lol'd some more.

These socks cannot be worn new, you gotta wash them first.

People that say they slip are not wearing them correctly or something.

They work great for me in the CB 2.3.

do a lot of you guys really wear multiple layers of socks?
other than the cushion/comfort what other reasons are there to wear more than 1?

I have done it for other than cushioning to achieve a better fit when my shoes felt like they stretched out a bit (back in the days of real leather).

Because with 2 pairs of Thorlos on, your feet must look about like this:

How do you get your feet into your shoes?! you must have to buy your shoes like 2 sizes too big.

Thorlos all the way. No slip for me and have never found them to be too hot. Been wearing them for years. As for double Thorlos--I suspect shoes then just become optional?

and yes, with 2 thorlos, my feet does fit into the Yonex shoe SHT 307's. a bit tight but it does fit in there...

Another poster above has hit it on the head when he/she mentioned WIGWAM. I have some thorlos and while generally comfy it is a slick sock. While playing in thorlos is the only time ever I actually had my shoe come off mid point! lol I double up two pair of wigwam cotton socks and its perfect!

If you dislike cotton, try Wigwam wool socks.
