I play at the Michigan Athletic Club in East Lansing. We've got a bunch of covered indoor courts so one is usually open. If you come to my courts, I'll pay for guest court time and provide balls. My weekends are a little crazy because one son is still doing wooden bat league baseball, two daughters are in soccer and the other daughter is taking ballet. But shoot me an e-mail and we can arrange a time for me to stomp your pusher butt. (Sorry I'm not very good at calling people out on the internet). We really should do a video. (BTW, I'm 48 years old and am probably somewhere around a 4.0 or a 4.5 but I don't have an official rating.) |

Do these things and everything else, including footwork, will fall in to place: (1) From the ready position, turn your upper body with both hands on the racquet until the racquet is facing the oncoming ball. Do not take the racquet back further than your upper body. Do not make any backswing with the arm at all. (2) Remove the non-dominant hand and hold the racquet face in the path of the oncoming ball, and keep the racquet head above the hand (unless the ball is below your knees, but, maintain a strong angle between the forearm and racquet in any event). (3) As the ball approaches, push the racquet face straight in to the ball so that you make contact just in front of your lead foot, and carve under the ball by leading with the bottom edge of the hoop beginning at contact.
