By the way, losing in consolation is still a competitive loss. Its still a tournament with a draw, you agreed and went out and played against an opponent and you went out there to win. Can't see any reason that is not competitive
Total number of players in the ranking is 553.

As far as competitive/non competitive losses, I mean by scoreline.

So 6-4, 6-4, is a competitive loss, while 6-0, 6-1, is a non competitive loss.

So it is "I lost, but it was a good match, vs. I got my butt handed to me"

Do you have a link to that ranking sheet? Don't need to tell me your name, I'm not looking to confirm or deny your claim

This is the full ranking via TennisLink. Jolly is #9 on the eligible list. I am #235 on the ineligible list. Obviously, you can see I played the guy who is #1, and let me tell you he is legitimately a top 5.0 - 5.5 level player. I've never played anyone with that level of athleticism and consistency, depth, and spin on his ball. Last year, he finished #2 behind Jaymon Crabb, who didn't play eastern tournies this year.

What exactly was the point of J011y emailing you his information privately if you guys are going to provide links with his real name and his ranking number on this board? Hmmm?

Meh, I've said it myself, so it isn't such a big deal.

Sad
When I sip cocktails on the balcony of our family villa on the 9th hole at Spanish Trail I often watch the crank powered Palmer ***** grimace at the steely eyed Nicklaus ***** kicking up centuries old bits of the earth that flies in the collective face of the great legacy of golf.

The Watson ***** are still waiting to tee off on #10 and take a paused, but deliberate look back at the Floyd ***** holding their Big Bertha 460 drivers leaded up to 352 grams bypassing the standard D2 swing weight.

And the Hogan ***** are in the fairway tarding out with square grooved Ping 7 irons. All of these ***** are capable of winning majors, but arthritis and anal cancer has crippled most of them and their handicaps fall into 3 digits. All of these men are immortal. All of threm victims of a strong era and out of control advancements in equipment. And the Snead ***** eventually die or give up the sport entirely. Good riddance Snead *****

I'm not sure why people have a problem with the points-based ranking
system in Eastern section. Isn't that what the ATP tour does?
It's just a point based ranking. Like the ATP rankings, it's not a perfect
predictor of whether player A could beat player B or not.
(e.g. some of the top 100 guys sometimes play a bunch of challenger events
to get their ranking back up.)

I just came across this. I don't know if anyone would want to watch a 1.0 hit.

If I ever find enough money and courage to enter a "real" USTA tournament, you are free to watch me play. I reckon, I would be so nervous, playing a REAL match that I would do a number 2 right there and then. I'm going to prepare for such eventuality by wearing adult diapers now. Once, I'm comfortable wearing Depends undergarments, I'll try to set up a charity to raise money so I can enter a USTA tournament. What is the lowest level tourament 2.5, 3.0? I hope to get like a point each set.

Those 2.5 are god-like from my perspective. They've spent enormous amount of time, blood, sweat and tears to reach such Olympian heights (from my humble POV).

Just imagine a fat, middle-aged Asian male, swinging and missing while guzzling a Double Gulp filled with Diet Coke or Gatorade.

We play tennis all day, and then go to Hooters and eat wings and drink beer.

It is hard work, I am not sure you have the right stuff.
