My Econ teacher is participating in a 50K Pepsi Refresh Challenge and we need all the votes we can get! (: This will not help only our school but also 200+ schools across the nation!

Basic Overview:

The Philanthropy Underground (TPU) will develop, implement, and improve service-learning in K-12 classrooms throught the country. Research shows that students participating in service-learning earn higher grades, are more engaged in school, and establish higher educational goals.

TPU will establish 200+ incubator Philanthropy Underground Clubs in K-12 schools around the country to encourage other schools, students, and teachers to adopt service-learning models. TPU service-learning projects will also support standards-based-learning and encourage the use of technology.

TPU's website, philanthropyunderground.org, will be a resource that allows students and teachers to access and share service ideas with other stakeholders. The site will be a true "social" network that allows schools and individuals to create profiles and share projects with local communities. TPU will also be attending national education conferences to support all of these activities.
