hmm

used to enjoy virtua tennis on the Wii, but it was hard on your game irl!

Did Eugenie Bouchard end up in the game? I saw her play a few weeks ago at a challenger in the middel of nowhere and she was great! (won the thing, despite being the youngest player in the draw)

I did too the first few times. After you select the players, it show a picture of each player over a tennis court. The top player has "Normal" next to the photo. Just move it to hard difficulty, which was way more fun.

Is it just me or do they seem to just be just slapping the ball in these rallys.

And I am not to keen on the weird power bars under the opponents.

Oh and stock racquets

Those are stamina bars, you can turn them off under options BTW, or just set them to show up only before serve.

Enjoying it so far, the sliding on clay animation is nice.

So the vintage Agassi is only in the game if you pre-order from Gamestop?

I like the game so far, but I still do not know half the secrets. Any tips? It is tough to learn when you can just play a tie break. I am trying to the right stick serve, it goes in, but not very fast yet. I did figure out Right button is needed for turbo and that is about where I am at.

Also tough to hit winners with topspin..almost seems like you should just hit flat all the time.

Federer's Ad-court serve is similar to the standardized motions of Sampras, Murray et al. Did anyone notice that the Nadal service motion is the 2008 one? I'm not impressed and will stick to Mario Tennis on the N64.

It's very odd. It seems they went out of their way to ruin everybody's strokes. And yet they are claiming "signature" strokes.

With the right stick, you have to push up just when the ball reaches the top of the toss, to hit big serves. With Federer I'm pretty automatic at getting big serves in.

As for topspin, I've played w/ Nadal the past few times and been dominating w/ topspin FH to the Fed BH. You really have to mix your shots though, can't rely too much on one shot over another in my view.

Do you hold the Left trigger for that inside out stroke?

Yeah, but it doesn't work for every shot, you have to be in the right positioning to be prepared to hit it inside out.

I know VT is arcade but as long as they still have players doing diving volleys on routine shots (which from the vids I've seen they do) its a no-go. Also VT 4 is catered towards motion control.
