What is this whole Rafa Armada thing? I saw there was a contest where you could design Rafa Armada shoes and the winner's design would go into production. Is this a new line of Nike Nadal gear? I know this isn't the right section to ask about this kind of stuff, but didn't bother making a thread on it

New NIKE marketing campaign, recognizing the fans of Nadal. Kinda like the J-Block (Mr. Blake) but using a reference to the powerful Spanish armada.

It's definitely better than....

LOL when I saw the thread title I though you were asking for Nadal to let go free his Spanish puppets. The "armada" of Spanish players who clean up the draw for Nadal by eliminating any tough opponents and then fold as soon as they play Nadal. As if they were working for him as a team. Let the Armada go Nadal!

On the side note I think Wawrinka should be made the honorary member of the Armada even thou he is not Spanish just due to his incredible accomplishments at 2010 USO which resulted in Nadal getting the career slam.

You mean the "Invincible Armada" that got owned by the English?

I want one! I will wear it with my RF shirt so that people can see I'm a FEDAL girl.

Are they going to do it again in NYC for the USO?

(Is that the same one he was wearing in the "jeans" part of his Armani shoot? )

I wish they were! But they aren't. Um, I'm actually not sure about this whole Armada thing. I've been hearing about it for a while. Maybe like someone mentioned, it some sort of line of apparel from Nike. Not sure.... but I like the Bandana a lot, and want one!

LOL, that would be really funny if we find out at the end of his career that other Spanish guys were working for him in the tournaments, eliminating tough opponents or taking them a distance and tiring them. If anything, Almagro and Verdasco seem to be doing their parts at the AO, and Lopez probably figured out that Tomic can be let through, as he wouldn't really present any challenge to the "king". Of course, the whole "Wawrinka Recruitment" theory would be proven true if he takes out both Roddick and Fed before casually bailing out in the semis.

In the deep waters of the Arthur Ashe Ocean, a battle for the career Grand Slam ensued...the invincible spanish armada striked with its full force. Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic perished in that lonely boat.

Just kidding guys.

mmmh... any anti-nadal signal would be welcome, of course, but technically, scotland wasn't participating in this conflict, was it ?

I still blame the storm. The english fleet was only good against the french at Trafalgar.

And the battle of Jutland? cmon now, that's a major fail on their part.

I will omit the fact the Spanish were trying to help the Scottish and put a Catholic on the throne at the same time
