To be safe I would stay at 50, 55 max. It may be OK at 60 but chances of breaking go up drastcially.

I recently strung my APDC with Global natural 16G/ Gosen OGSM 17G at 59/62.
It has 1.5 hours hitting with a ball machine, Two sets of playing, about 100 practice serves. No observable bad effects yet. Your mileage may vary. |

I have the 17 gauge (black) and I always string it at 60.

While I don't have firsthand knowledge here, in the reviews posted around here, there seems to be a real divide between those who string their budget gut high and complain of spontaneous breakage, and those who string it low and have nothing bad to say.
When I do try a budget gut later this summer, it'll be strung at 51 and not a pound higher!

How does the global gut play? Where can we get it?
edit: does it give infinite power?

It's ok in terms of feel, so it's comfortable to play with and has more power than syn gut. However, tension retension is awful for a natural gut. I have some sets which I bought cheap on the bay, I think they worked out to about £2.50 a set. Can't really knock it because of the price, but you get what you pay for.
