Absurd. I wonder what Izod would have said to Wawrinka if he'd wanted 45 yellow shirts so he could match Federer. "Well, Stan, there's an Lacoste store about four miles down the road from Indian Wells, right off 111 in Palm Desert..."

In theory, yes, but let's be honest, the Fed and Nadal contracts are a drop in the bucket compared to what Nike spends on its highest profile basketball players (and football players and baseball players and soccer players).

Really? Doesnt Federer have an extremely lucrative deal with Nike? Something like 100 million ++ for 10 years.

Cool Spring '10 Henley

Fed wore a Henley style in Europe last Spring, retailing at a reasonable $60 or so, compared to his overpriced polos at $80. His Spring '11 is all v-neck crews and photos were posted two weeks ago on Twitter @FedererNews. Wild stuff for him!

he wore that pole because the atp rules say the team has to match, so nike sent him 45 different shade of blue in different styles too. he picked the polo later in the tourney because they final reached him from nike.

The announcers said during the match against Nadal/Lopez, that Roger asked for permission to wear his yellow polo in doubles in the beginning of the tournament, until Nike sent him the blue shirts.

Yep, I was there Monday night and caught the last few mins of their doubles match, he was wearing his yellow polo.
