Default Volkl V Pro String vs Cyclone

Question is probably best directed towards Chris who I believe is now using Volkl V Pro and has also used Cyclone in the past.

How would you compare the playing characteristics of V Pro and Cyclone? There's very little information out there about V Pro and I'm curious if it's worth a try.

Thanks much!

Power and spin are similar. The feel is different, I'm guessing due to the shape of Cyclone. I really like both and I'm always happy hitting with either. I find a slightly softer feel from the V Pro, but my results hitting with both are very similar -- I can switch between the two without missing a beat.

Thanks Chris... very helpful. I think I'll stick with Cyclone. One of the best values out there IMO.

Thanks Chris.

Would you say then that Cyclone is alittle more crisper when compared to V-Pro?

Cyclone and V-Pro are the same string, except that one is smooth and the other is shaped. V-Pro plays softer because because of the dye.

My suggestion is that if you wear-off the shape of the Cyclone before you break it--which many higher level players do--then play with the V-Pro since it is softer. If you just want the bite of shaped poly, whether it breaks or not, then go with the Cyclone, because you should then cut it out before it breaks, as soon as the surface wears off.
