What's the shortest men's tennis shorts out there? I'm SO tired of the basketball player look. . .

Nike makes some cotton short shorts that I saw at a tennis store.

7" inseam is probably the best you'll do these days. Just take them to a tailor and get them shortened.

Agree. Fashion being fashion and how things cycle in and out, I don't like the baggy short. Wish other athletic companies would make a "regular" short that didn't make me feel like I'm wearing a wind sail.

Good point. I've got some other things for her to do, too.

The adidas Essex (TW has them) has a 6.5" inseam. That's a good place to start, probably.

The Prince Men's Comp BLM Short 2 has a 6.5" inseam. They are a basic but decent short. They are also slightly on the trim side. I have three pairs and I love them.

I'm a woman, and I am tired of seeing men in huge, baggy shorts that cover the knees. They actually look like skirts. (I've wondered if men realize this.) The big shorts make an average sized man look short and chubby. I've heard many other women make the same observation. |

No one is talking about McEnroe short shorts. If you have short legs (or short thighs), you look absolutely ridiculous in shorts with 10" inseams.

Five years ago found shorts with 5-6" inseams by Wilson, Gamma, and Lotto/ATP. Stocked up. Found them by Reebok also. Believe these shorts were made for more intense sports like Badminton or table tennis where you needed to use your quads.

Good point. The Filas look good; navy would work for me. I'll check the badminton stuff out.
I had some Pete Sampras type addidas shorts, and the long legs were lousy in humid weather, with sweat and such. Just not practical here.

Boast Classic shorts have a 5" inseam. They're double-pleated, so you have plenty of room. I often wear knee braces. Longer shorts get tangled with the braces.
Max, did you know that Barney Barnwell passed away this week? For those TT folks that thought Max's avatar was cool, it's a photo of a South Carolina moonshiner, bluegrass fiddler who once opened for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. He hosted a large bluegrass festival on his family farm in Plum Hollow,SC for the last several years. That's his possum George on his shoulder. They don't make 'em like Barney anymore. Robby C |
