Hey Gang,
Us old guys who play a lot of tennis need super cushioned shoes to easy the ache and pains of pounding on the skeleton at the courts. Which of the current tennis shoes offers the most cushion to the ball of your shoes and your heel.... the all around most cushioned |

New Balance 1004 is the most cushioned shoe I have worn. Whatever shoe you choose, you may want to buy aftermarket replacement insoles to boost the cushioning - that's what I do.

My experience has been good with Asics Gel Resolution shoes. I use the GR2's on hard courts and they are very cushioned while being firm enough for performance.
From everything I read, the Resolution 3's are even better. They will be my next shoe after I go through my 2's.

I prefer New Balance shoes, they're mostly cushioned and durable.

Of this shoes I've owned so far (which is not a lot) the Nike Lunar Vapor Tour has the best cushioning - pillowlike is how I'd describe them, also no break-in needed. The front of the shoe is a bit wide and they run a half size larger than normal as noted in most of the TW customer reviews.

The brand I've had most success with for cushioning and fit has been New Balance. Currently in K Swiss which are ok, but not on the same level as my New Balances of old.
The one pair of Brooks I had (sorry, can't remember the model number) were also pretty good, but I'm going back to New Balance when I'm done with my current shoes.

For those of you who say New Balance, have you tried the Nike Vapor, Zoom, or Court Ballistics series as well?

Yes - I've tried the Vapor's. Didn't enjoy the fit or feel at all compared to NB.

^^^ Got a pair of SHT-307 Clays on the way. Decided to pull the trigger before the red ones are gone forever. Not a big fan of the yellow shoes.
I am betting on great cushioning.... let's hope my experience is as positive as others'.

+1 on this. The insoles that come with most shoes, even high end ones, are thin and made of cheap foam. Aftermarket insoles + thick socks such as Thorlo level 3 and you can't get much more cushioned that that!

Nike Air Max ( anything)- they made new models all the time. Great cushion for your feet and body. Some say they feel like you're running on marshmallows. All I know is that they don't jar my body like a lot of the others listed above do. IMO.

I thought so too when I first put mine on. But the durability sucks, I've had mine for a little over a month now and I can already see the base rubber. =/
