lol, you think I want aplayer who peaked in 10th grade? Pasha has lots of room to improve, like Pieters. Not some guy who is declining already when they hit college.

Maybe you mean to speak of his strength in doubles? For that, I agree. In singles for dual matches, he had bad losses to UK twice, Ole Miss., Miss. St., and Florida. That's far from dominating.

What do you guys think of Texas next year? I have been very upset at the direction of the program lately. So far big recruits like Holiner and Chen have been busts. And the international guys not so good either. Recruiting talent evaluation seems to have slipped mightily. We got our program to national title contendors and now we are not

I don't think Holiner and Chen have been busts. They do need to stay healthy, they are still young, and Chen was only the #18 blue chip a couple of years ago. Holiner is only old enough to be a freshman this year, but he enrolled early in January a year ago so he is a very young sophomore.

International recruits tend to sound better than they are in press releases. Mladenov and Sitaram are good players but they are not the kind of guys who play in the top 3 in the lineup. Jean Andersen is an excellent international recruit who will be a top 3 guy for his final three years, including the season that just concluded. The problem is that Corrie and Damico are graduating, and no international recruit has been another Kutrovsky.

Guess we will have to see how the Danish recruit works out. If he is not a top 3 guy right off the bat, then there will have to be a big leap forward by some of the younger guys for Texas to contend nationally. In the Big 12, all of the top schools are suffering major graduation losses, not just Texas, so they will contend within their conference regardless.

not sure if Austin Krijcek has pro career ahead of him. He has grown big time. Much taller than he used to be. with bigger serve too. maybe he can be as good as his uncle.

The problem is you are assuming that each player will stay in their slotted spot and jjst move up in exact order. Not how it really works. I for one think that ore will make a move and jump to 2 next year

GT has only been "consistently" good as a team over the last 4 to 5 seasons. They've had standout players from year to year but only recently has the team been deep enough to compete with the top teams day-in and day-out. They're losing (have lost) five seniors this Spring so there's room for new talent. 2011-12 will be a rebuilding year for GT.

As far as the graduation rate, almost all players graduate but not many of them head off to the pros. And if they do, they don't really make any significant waves.

the only reason i do that is because i dont know enough about the teams to know how much each player should jump. i dont follow all of them, and this is the most realistic way to do it. but based on what you said, i put junior ore below the two rising seniors for experience sake.
