anyone ever hit with one of these babies.
they are said to be great spin racquets but i had never heard of one until i bought one just recently. it was a great deal and i can't pass up a great deal. anyone have the specs? i think i read somewhere the weight is about 350 grams or about 12.4 oz just wondering if anyone from the 80's ever played with these. ![]()

Simply put: its a great stick to play with. Spins aren't loopy, but more of the penetrating sort. And it's very comfy, as you've got to string it low.
You'll enjoy it. BTW, you'll need 15 meters of string to give it a one string-type job.

it's amazing that those that use them understand the spin and those that haven't will tell you that a closed string bed doesn't allow spin.

i'd imagine because there are so many more strings in contact (more string surface area touching) with the ball at any given point in time, it should be easier to impart more spin.

but i love all the old classics - that is all i have - do not even own a modern racquet. i had a wilson k-zen and wilson hammer racquet. sold both of them and started buying the old classics on fleabay. got most of them for a song and they just play better for me than the modern racquets. but what do i know - i am just an older "senior" player (LOL).

Closed string beds need a bit less tension. Very closed string beds require almost no tension! The trade off? Your arm loves you!

I'll take mine out for a spin tomorrow. The strings are not getting any younger. Right
