Default Beware of chrisplchs aka kingdaddysports@gmail.com

Guy agreed to a trade never sent out his and doesn't reply to numerous emails asking whats up.
Timeline:
July 8th we exchange emails to do a string trade his 3 sets of redcode cut from a reel for my (gamma professional 17 and gamma live wire xp 17) retail packs. I shipped out on the 11th emailed him that mine were shipped and asked if he shipped his. No response, emailed him the 14th, 15th and today (19th) no response from him at all.
Beware of this guy everyone when doing trades, I would also be afraid of buying from him

I was going to post something the other day about how we seem to have had a scam-less summer so far. That either we had chased most of the a-holes off the boards, made them think twice about scamming here given what usually happens to the scammers and/or the people who trade here have wised up and don't enter into questionable deals.

This guy's email is ringing a bell with me for some reason. I think he is in Texas if memory serves.

If I have some time later, I will do some digging for you and see if we can make kingdaddy see that living up to his end of the deal is in his interest.

Edit: This is why his email rang a bell. Seems to be a little dodgy and someone you might want to avoid doing deals with.

I would suggest you email him one last time and tell him to send the strings with tracking this week, or on Monday you will file an internet fraud claim with the FBI and will file a fraud report with his local PD. And you will start calling the people at KingDaddySports which is some sort of tennis academy to see if they can help you to get in contact with him since he can't trouble himself to answer your emails. Most people don't want to deal with the hassle and will generally send what they owe you once they realize there might be some negative consequences if they don't.

He is not a teen, more like 26, so have may just be sort of flakey/unreliable rather than a total scammer. Exert a little pressure and see what happens. Most probably his dog is sick, he is on vacation, he has an unspecified family emergency, etc.

On the positive side, he seems fairly active here and has had a number of good deals eivdently. So, maybe, he will still come through for you. No excuse for blowing you off though. It takes two seconds to reply to an email.

Not fond of trades unless the other party has impeccable refs. Mutual buys for goods via PP are a better method IMHO.

Default Sad Trade

I also dealed with Chris this following week in a trade for one set of redcode for my gamma tnt2 18. I sent out mine with delivery confirmation but never received his package. I contacted him several times by email but had gotten no response.

I'm going to take Fearsome's advice and email him yet another time. If he doesnt give me a response soon, I'm going to have to file a fraud report.

Agreed. Mutual buys seem like a lot safer option, for only a tiny fee.

The name looks familiar... (I've never dealt with him)

He's been around TTW for a long time..... hmm.

ok so I come home early today, and in my mail is a package from Chris, so I did get the package after 10 days, he sent it via first class mail with delivery confirmation. I guess he just doesn't check his emails. Mod can you delete this thread? apologies to Chris for doubting you, maybe next time you can check your emails and respond to them

Given that a delivery that should have taken a few days took 10 and given that he failed to answer any of your WTF? emails, he does deserve a neutral to negative reference.

You shipped on time as agreed. You stayed in communication. He didn't. And there is another poster on this thread that is still looking for string from the same guy.

Let the thread stand.
