Default Finger pain

So lately i been getting this soreness in my middle finger when i open and close my hand. Its like at the joints in my finger.

What do you think is causing this? This is just happening recentlly. Some type of carpal tunnel sydrome or something. my whole hand feels tight also when i open and close it, but i don't feel pain just in the middle finger.

my wrist doesn't really hurt. My grip size is perfect also, since i measured my hand with a ruler.

Just in that finger?

We had some discussion about finger pain a while back.

Popping finger joints? Horrible sign?

Hopefully you don't have an early stage of the dreaded "trigger finger," which is a chronic overuse condition. In any case, you should get that looked at.

Hmmm... Does the pain intensify come after you've been driving a lot? Do you have spells of "road rage"? Sounds like a classic "overuse" problem. Do you flip people off a lot?

LOL, i'll look over the links, it does sound like a form of trigger finger, i don't get the lock ups though just the pain.

I got a similar pain in the joint of my middle finger, only when gripping the raquet.

I felt it first a bit last week(initially I thought that I might have been gripping it too tight), but then I got it injured when returning some very strong serves...

The pain subdued in a couple of minutes, while rallying with a very lose grip(the BH was ok from the beginning and gradually I was able to hit FHs as well, with minimal or no pain - some strong, but with no muscling whatsoever).

I still feel the pain a bit in a closed tight fist after one day of rest and consider to get better cushioning from my grip and overgrip + continue to try to have a very lose/relax grip (It also helps with the feeling for the shots).

I don't quite want to take a week away from tennis or go to a doctor for xrays just yet, what do you think?

Hopefully it is just a minor bruise or contusion that will improve with time.

Thanks it's gone away and I'm careful now as how tight my grip is.
