Question: How much frame distortion do you experience after you string a racquet with either of these machines? 0.5 cm? 1 cm? 1.5 cm?

Just wondering, thanks

Maybe there haven't been any responses because stringers don't get or expect significant frame distortion. I don't notice it with my x-2, though I can't say I measure down to the mm. before and after. Certainly anything like a centimeter or more would be problematical. Some of Irvin's videos discuss frame distortion along the lines of as when you're stringing the mains you induce some "shortening" of the racket which should be counter-acted when you string the crosses.

I distorted one of my Head Ti Radical Oversize rackets a few millimeters for sure. I think that was a combination of me being a new stringer and the inherent quality of those rackets to distort from stringing.

Haven't really noticed any with my EXO3 Tour. I'm using the X-2 by the way.

When you state "distortion", is this distortion of the frame that you see while stringing, that is temporary and goes away or is this permanent? Permanent would be an issue if it is outside of the normal elongation (if I have this right) of a fraction of an inch that would be seen due to the tensioning of the strings.

My first machine was an X2, and although a very good machine to learn on, one of my issues was that 2 point mounting system did allow considerable flex of the frame during the stringing process. But this wasn't permanent and appeared to be primarily due to the limited support of the frame during stringing, and even more evident with OS frames.
