Default Luxilon?

Hey guys. I have an 11 year old brother who is a top 15 player in the state. His racquet is the Wilson BLX Six One Lite, and he uses Wilson Sensation at 58 lbs. He wants to use a string that has more pop, so he is thinking of using a hybrid with Luxilon and synthetic gut (Prince). What Luxilon string do you recommend for him, and do you guys think Luxilon would hurt his arm? Thanks in advance.

Cool

It will be a dramatic change, even as a hybrid, so go carefully: lower tension, use the softer Lux strings (M2 Pro, ALU Fluoro) or other brands of softer polys (see my signature). Also, the cross should be a multifilament, perhaps even the Sensation he is currently using. My customers like Babolat Addiction in the crosses.

"Pop" can mean different things to different people, but if you mean ball speed, poly will not provide as much as Sensation, all other things being equal.
Of couse, there are always many things that are not equal (tension, swing speed, control, spin, etc.)

That's a big jump.
Take a look at Wilson Red Alert first.

You're new so I'll cut you some slack, but we around here don't really revive old threads (unless they are well known. i.e. Mikeler's Multi's) like this one just to have very little input on an issue that has most likely already been solved. Welcome to the forum.

I'd say it's fine imo. as long as he has good technique it shouldnt be a problem.
