Default BYE Week in ALTA

Schedules came out last week and it looks like every team in our division has a BYE week. I think that there was a team that pulled out of the division at the last minute.

Does anybody know how this works? Does every team in our division just get a free 5 points? I know when we get to playoffs the cummulative score is used to determine home court advantage. Perhaps they use percentage of points earned with relation to possible points. Our team took 30 last season, and have made it a goal to take more than 30 this season....

Its just what happens when you have 7 teams in the division instead of 8. You simply don't get any points that week but since every team in the division also has a BYE then it all works out. For Home Court Advantage or if you are in a flight where some third place teams advance to playoffs you will go off of percentage of matches won instead of number of points.

Its always a bummer to end up with a BYE week just because it stinks to have 10 less lineup spots to give to people.

With only 6 matches, each point now matters a little bit more.

Got an email from the VP of Men's doubles today explaining how they're doing the shake-'em-up in the upper couple A levels to balance the flights.

My team may or may not move up a level, depends on where they need teams. Yippee.

bcart- one of our teams is at A2 and we got that same message. I didn't think it meant that they were going to redo the schedules for fall, only that they did consolidate the levels a bit. It looks like last season they only had 2 divisions in each flight of A1, A2, and A3. This season they have 4 divisions in each of those flights.

Yeah, reading it again, they're telling us what they already did. Doesn't bother me too much, as we were mid-pack last season and should be again this season.
