Default Gary Muller: Big serving A-Gamer or Big-haired partyboy journeyman?

What kind of pro was Gary Muller back in the day? Was he the sort of mid-ranked pro who was a regular competitive threat to his peers or the kind of guy who made up the numbers in the draw before hooking up with groupies at the player parties?

I saw him once at the long-lamented Sydney Indoor, being cut up by Edberg. Muller looked like the prototypical 80s tennis pro-as-rockstar, looking like Axl Rose and rocking in his white Prince Spectrum 90(?).

Dated a good-looking B actress for a while, who's name I don't remember at the moment.

Ann Turkel! I'm sure that's who it was. Was thinking Ann....something. I think he was linked to other actresses as well.

...Partyboy then...

EDIT: I just googled Ann Turkel...the Bride of Wildenstein comes to mind. Muller liked mature women it seems.

LOL! Yes, perhaps now...but 20+ years ago, she could look quite striking at times.

My favorite story about Gaz is at Wimby late 80's....

Having been given a few hookie line calls from the Umpire he casually strolled over and asked...

'Ump, ump...can you get a code violation for thinking?'

'No Mr. Muller'

'Good, because I think you're a f#@king ar%^$le.'

Locker room legend!
