Awesome straight set win for Sammy boy - blew my prediction of a Tsonga/LaMonf semi. Might be a nice start to 2012.

Big win for Sam as Jo Willie has been one of the hottest players this second half of the year. I didn't actually see the match, can anyone tell me how Sam went about taking out Jo?

I only watched the first set but it was typical Sam but out of nowhere back near his best; big serve, dictating with forehand, not afraid of net if its on his terms.

I was most surprised with his movement and defense, I actually opened my mouth in surprise after the first couple games. He looked real good. Couple that with a win over Gulbis and maybe Sam could get on an early roll in 2012?

Sam has a serious weapon with his serve and FH. He was top 20 not that long ago. Would not be surprised to see him get back there by end of next year if he stays healthy.
