it is a bit odd, I agree

however I'm not so sure about this being a "grueling" match. Both guys have huge serves, huge groundstrokes/go for winners quickly, and (especially Tsonga) neither are afraid of net. Should be competitive definitely but even a 3-setter won't be too taxing

i think that it's going to come down to volleys. Jo-W will be looking to come to the net, and Berdych wont. If jo can control the net, and force Berd to brick some volleys, it will be Jo-W in the finals

Because Berd has more power I believe. Also Jo is more of an emotional player. With crowd behind Rodge he goes away more easily

Yea. I think when Djokovic failed to make the semis everyone assumed Federer is going to win the tournament.
