Default What was the last time?

The top 4 lost back to back matches? (before this tournament) Djokovic and Nadal both did it in this tournament, which is quite unfamiliar to them I would think.

Nobody knows the last time those lost b2b matches before this tournament? I think it's quite rare that Novak, Rafa and Andy all lost b2b in the past weeks.

Yes, I believe this was the latest example. However it was 3.

Murray's start to 2011...
AO Final - Lost to Djokovic
Rotterdam - R1 Lost to Baghdatis
Indian Wells - R1 Lost to Young
Miami - R1 Lost to Bogomolov Jr

...Picked form back to for Monte Carlo though, SF l. Nadal in 3

That's four right?

So what was the last time for Federer? Maybe 2008 when he lost to Simon and Karlovic shortly after his Wimbledon loss to Nadal?

Woops - I just misinterpreted it as how many back to back losses after 1 loss, so yeah if you want - 4 all together.

Looks like 4 to me.

Anyway Federer lost last year in Miami to Berdych in the last 16 and then lost his opening match against Gulbis in Rome.

Think the Karlovic match was the 2nd round, didn't he beat Ginepri in the first round of Cincy after that Simon loss in Toronto

The last time Djokovic lost back to back matches i think was last year in IW and Miami where he lost to Ljubicic in the IW's and then Rochus in Miami first round, Rafa did it this year after losing the Wimbledon final to Novak and went on to lose to Dodig in the first round of Montreal
