Okay I am student, and can't really afford any resorts. I am already bought few tickets for Indian wells.
I need suggestion regarding staying for cheap. Something which is close to the venue. And even if it's not that close, atleast it has some local transportation whcih I can take to go to the venue with ease. Please if possible, can someone give good details on this of which bus service or shuttle is run for cheap and some nice cheap hotels. |

Go to www.palmsprings.com and click on economy hotels. There's a few that offer rooms starting at $49 a night during the week. I don't know anything about transportation deals or shuttles down there.

During that 2 weeks, cheap doesn't exist. Last I recall, the Motel 6 that was about 5 miles away was $85 / night.
My advice would be to book something like the motel 6. Then scan *bay frequently for a condo, etc. If something pops up you like, buy it and cancel your reservation. I've noticed that you can find deals out there right before the event. Somebody has a change of plans and can't make it and needs to sell. Nobody else will be looking / nobody else is going to make very last minute reservations, so you can get great places for dirt cheap. If you can split it with someone else, it will probably be affordable. Probably nothing will be under $400-500.

Check the best western vacation inn in palm desert. It's where the officials stay and I think they have some decent rates. And there's a shuttle.

Did you have no luck with priceline bidding?

It's a 'name your price' option. Usually you have to wait until close to the date to get the great deals. So you could: a) find the best deal you can now, making sure there is a no cost cancellation policy; b) wait until a few weeks from the tournament and start bidding low. As others have said, PS/IW isn't really a budget destination. Tennis fans have money - and college spring breakers will put 5 or 6 people in a room to share the cost. Good luck.

Give us a hint: where do you live? Are you even in the US (might want to put your location in your profile)? Expedia and Orbitz do air also. Southwest Airlines is usually competitive.

Also, which ground transportation are you expect to use? Because it could be very expensive if you use cabs. I think it's around 60$ from PS Airport to the IW area with a cab. And public transportation is not very good in the PS/IW area |

Or fly Southwest Airlines from Washington Dulles or BWI to Ontario (Los Angeles), rent a car cheaply, then drive about an hour East to Palm Springs.

+1. Ontario is the right airport to fly to. And OP, Priceline has the 'name your price' option for rental cars too. You should be able to pick up a subcompact cheap.

A condo at the Marriott Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert for March 11-18 (Sunday to Sunday) sold this past Sunday on Fbay for $265 for the week, or $38 / night.

I'd enjoy a re-"match" (if you call what I gave you a match). I'm in a bit better shape this year as compared to last year. Maybe I can win a game this time (but I somehow doubt it.....you're pretty damn good).
I'll be in the same place as last year, but this year I'll be there for 2 full weeks. From March 2-16 (Friday to Friday). I figured out that the tennis at that condo sucks (just hard to get time), so maybe you know of a better place.

Sound good. I located your tel# from an old e-mail.
When the time gets closer we'll set something up.
