Buddies over at Unique sports sent me a reel to play with as a play test. Will share with my teammates and coaches and see what they have to say.

Just strung this baby up. K Blade Tour. BHB7 16g on mains @ 54 lbs, OGSM 16 on crosses @ 52 lbs. String was coily and felt like RPM in my hand. String description says its more stiff and less powerful than BHBR.
Will hit tomorrow and post results. |

Just got my set in the mail, so I figured I'd post up my impressions and use this as a placeholder post for my review.
Current racquet: EXO3 Tour 16x18 Reference string: BHBR 17 @40lbs Playing style: I like to think of myself as a 4.5 Radwanska. I don't have big shots or any huge weapons, so I play a trickier game. However, while it isn't my main weapon, my serve is pretty solid as well. I hit with heavy spin most of the time, but I do enjoy mixing paces and spins up every now and then. So I received the string today, and it felt almost like Focus Hex to the touch. It's almost plasticy, but not quite, and it feels light (weird, right?) to the touch. The edges are well defined, and it was a little stiffer than BHBR but not as much as BHSR, IMO. We'll see how it strings up at the end of the week-so until then! Also, thanks for the string, Steve.

Played today with BHB7 16 gauge. See two posts up for my set up.
Serves: Powerful, but not as big as with BHBR. I felt like I could grab the ball more, however. Forehands: Had some issues finding the feel at first, due to the stiffer nature of the string. After I got used to it, I started pocketing the ball better, and I saw slight dips in the ball's parabola due to spin. Good for the spin fiends. Backhand Slice: I'm restricted to slices due to injury, but slices were like a hot knife through butter. I liked it! |

Thanks to SteveI for sending me a couple of sets of this string.
On it initial examination, and comparing to 3 other black shaped polys, I'd comment as follows: - in terms of shape, the string looks virtually identical to Dunlop Black Widow (another 7 sided poly). It's pretty thin with very prounounced edges which you can easily feel when rolling it through your fingers. Under a halogen lamp the surface texture and markings during the extrusion process also look very similar though the Black Widow looks slightly more marked. The strings also seem as bendy as each other. Is it made at the same factory or using the same tooling? If they are, I don't think they're the same chemical composition of string - under a halogen lamp, the BHB7 looks like a yellowy black, whereas the black widow is more of a bluey black, so it doesn't appear to simply be a rebranded string. - definitely a different string to Pro's Pro's Blackout, which is much rounder. - definitely a different string to Weiscannon B5E which agains is much rounder and also noticeably stiffer. It's a surprisingly thin string almost Mosquito Bite thin. I'd be tempted to go for a 16 gauge next time even in my closed pattern stick. Will string it up at the weekend and see how it plays. I got mine while I was on break, but I opened it and immediately it has the plastic feeling of MSV Hex to the touch, and is very thin. Appears to be 1.20mm.

I hit with BHB7 and BHBR today...honestly I'm still smitten by the BHBR. BHBR is the GStOAT.
