Mostly out of boredom, but also because I'm anticipating the new season. Could you add the players you know off what their pre-AO schedule looks like?
Djokovic: Abu Dhabi ??? Nadal: Abu Dhabi Doha Federer: Abu Dhabi Doha Murray: Brisbane Ferrer: Abu Dhabi ?? Tsonga: Abu Dhabi Doha??? Monfils: Abu Dhabi |

Djokovic is just playing Abu Dhabi.
But lets spice this thread up a little. Now we have established who is playing where, who actually has the best pre-AO schedule? I think playing Doha is not good as it's so close to the start of AO, If it was me I'd rather get to Australia to acclimatise early and also get ATP ranking points like Murray is in Brisbane now. Abu Dhabi somewhat gives good match practice against top players in an exhibition. And then from there gives you the rest of January to practice in Melbourne, so Djokovic has nailed the schedule there somewhat too. Nadal on the other hand has his shoulder problems and his team saying on twitter his "acromioclavicular muscles have lost strength also" = yet still decides to play Abu Dhabi and Doha? Looks like we have another QF burn out from Nadal again at AO. |

It`s no big deal who plays Doha or Brisbane as all the guys will have 1 week break before AO.I`m certainly not a big fan of picking Auckland, playing a possible 3 straight weeks. For someone like Ferrer it might work but not for other guys.

Federer practices in Dubai, and the middle east has pretty hot and humid weather just like Australia, if not worse sometimes (I live in this region I would know). So Federer's schedule is pretty solid I think. Djokovic has the least physically taxing, he can get some really good practice and adjust to weather, since he'll need it given his past troubles with the heat (save 2011). Nadal needs to learn when to take a break, if he really does have some niggling injuries, he should skip Doha and just head to Australia after Abu Dhabi (he should still play it just to get a feel for the season, plus he gets an idea of how his rivals plays).

Robin Haase is out of Chennai by the way. He tweeted:
@robin_haase: By the way, I am not going to Chennai this year. Had to withdraw. If someone wants to know why, one word: Visa..... |
