Knowing that the ncode is soo headlight...I wanted to make the ncode a little more head heavy. What are the benefits and downsides of putting 2 grams on the 3, 12, and 9, positions.
Do ya'll have any other suggestions? |

well if you want a more heady heavy racquet, why did you get the n6.1? There are many racquets available that are similar to the 6.1 in feel, but aren't as head light.

Benefits: More racket stability from the 3 and 9 positions due to more mass/force being applied to the ball. More pop on the serve from the 12 position due to a hammer-like velocity.
Downsides: Well, not much, except to say that your racket is going to weigh more, which can aggrevate elbow/arm problems. But, two grams isn't a lot of added weight, so there really is no downside, save to say that it'll take SOME adapting on yoru part to get used to a heavier racket. |

The biggest difference there will be for adding this little bit of weight would be to add to the swingweight. I think that would be much more noticeable than other playability benefits.

How much weight should be added at the 3, 9, and 12 positions in order to feel the slightest bit of playability differences?

If u put lead tape on, it will most likely take paint off it, I had a sticker on the throat listing tension and string info on both of my ncodes 95 and it took a bit of the double braid sign off and some1 else put electrical tape on theirs and it took a layer of paint off.

I have about 5-6" at about 10 and 2 on my frames. For 1/2" strips, that is a little over 5 grams, and I can tell a bit of a difference, but it really increased my swingweight. When you said you wanted to add 2g at 9,3,12, did you mean at each location meaning 6g total, or did you mean 2g dispersed through the 3 areas? If you add 6g total (not sure why an n6.1 would ever need weight at 9,3 anyway...its so damn stable on its own), then you would probably notice a difference in playability as well as swingweight. However, adding lead tape is always personal preference and based on what you like and feel comfortable with. I have never had any problem with lead tape pulling paint off of any frame, even my n6.1's. So I would tell you to go ahead and try it, see if you like it, and make adjustments accordingly. No one can really tell you what is right and wrong for your racket, we are not the ones using it.

Uh, 10 and 1 would be bad. I assume u mean 10 and 2 as to make the weighting symmetrical. Anyway, it would give you some advantages, such as more weight and power in shots and increasing the sweet spot a bit, but it would not add as much stability as adding right to 9 and 3, but like I said, I think it is stable enough unless you are hitting left or right of the sweet spot on nearly every shot.
