The USTA has set a goal of less school missed and more regional play for competitive juniors, with the match tiebreaker in lieu of a third set playing an increasingly important role in deciding matches and ultimately, rankings. Are More Major Changes Brewing for USTA Junior Competition?

and even gold ball events could see draw sizes reduced and formats drastically changed.

Whether these proposals will have any true impact on player development is debatable,

but it must be said that while simplicity may not be its strong suit,

the USTA can't be accused of fearing change.

Yes, tennis5 it is what you mentioned, but it has not been decided yet.

But I hear there may be some huge changes in 2013, more significant than just the draw sizes changing. Prepare to play the same ol' players in your section more and more, over and over if certain things go though. ugh.

But, yes, you will be playing your section players over and over again.
