As for Djokovic lacking passion and fight...did you see the AO final this year? Or any of the other finals Djokovic won throughout 2011? |

Federer's game is USELESS against Nadal. And that is where the real test is my son! Federer has been denied in 9 Grand Slams by Nadal and all these years he's still clueless on how to play Nadal.

What's even funnier is that as soon as Nadal began losing consistently to Djokovic last year in the Spring and Clay Masters, Nadal was suddenly considered 'past his prime' at the grand old age of......24!!!!!!!

Đoković is certainly changing everyone's food habits the world over.
The bagel, breadstick and pizza industry may suffer as a consequence. Wheat production may shut down affecting 3rd world countries leading to a world war. Now that is pretty game changing.

So he isn't changing the game but is impacting on the global economy negatively.

^^I can see how people think it's ugly, but it's far from cookie-cutter and generic and/or boring. I like Federer's style too.

This should probably be linked to Nathaniel Near's post here:
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=411833 Because basically, they're talking of the same subject. Is Djokovic changing the game? He sure isn't. However, after Nadal before him, he's taking full advantage of the ITF policy in: - slowing down all the courts (which makes it much easier for physical 'freaks' to run down each and every ball) - turning a blind eye to/covering up doping (which enables people to create said physical freaks) So he's not really changing tennis. The change came with Nadal in 2005, but some people didn't see it coming at the time since Federer was still winning. But when Djokovic decided to take the same road at the end of 2010, we sure saw the difference (and we'll soon see with Murray, too). Problem is, the guys have just no choice if they want to make an impact on the game at the moment. Oh, and if ITF doesn't change its policy, you can be sure that Djokovic and Nadal will be physical midgets compared to the top players we will get in a few years. They aren't quite able to run faster than every ball just yet, but the next generation probably will be. Darwinian evolution in sports through doping. And yeah, it's pretty damn sad. |

Unless he comes to the net to close out points instead of rallying like a madman for 30-40 shots, he's still very much a baseliner in most people's eyes. He's just a better version of Nadal but allcourter he is not! |

Djokovic has the most intense hard court slides I've seen, going into full on gumby mode at times. Is that catching on with other players? (or did he copy that from someone else?)

He is taking tennis to a whole new level.
Nobody was as good as he is in taking the ball on the riise, BH and FH. No one before returned serve like he does. Best hand eye coordination ever, even superior to Agassi's. |
