Default Quiz:what was significant about the 1914 US Open Williams-Behr match?

Fun tennis quiz question that I got from watching Davis Cup on TV:
In 1914 Dick Williams beat Karl Behr 6-2, 6-2, 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the US Nationals (US Open). There was something very unusual about this match-up of players. What was it?

Yup, both were on the Titantic, both survived, only 19% of men on the Titantic survived, and they ended up playing each other in the US Open. An amazing feat of chance.
